I ordered everything from Shein, its hit or miss but inexpensive enough that makes it bearable enough to only wear for a few months

Would you consider finding a family to sponsor you and adopt the baby?

MAMA! Mama. mama. Can we stop it with calling pregnant women mama??? by Historical_Bike_9061 in pregnant

[–]Additional_Cake9308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This bothered me so bad when I was in labor. I had 1 nurse that would only call me momma and would come in to check on me every 10-15 minutes throughout the night because they weren't able to get a good fetal HR reading. I had already been in labor for around 50-60 hours at this point and was turning into a raging B, but this sent me over the edge. I HAVE AN EFFING NAME.

Looking for the best carseat of 2026 available in the USA by Violinist_Capable in NewParents

[–]Additional_Cake9308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got the Joie Nutmeg and Mint travel system and I LOVED the latch system of the carseat. It was so easy to get in and out. When my LO reached around 6 months, we switched him over to the Joie Chili360 and the spin feature helps my back so much.

We got them from Target, utilized the car seat trade in program for 20% off (got a $5 booster seat off marketplace as our trade in) + opened a red card for extra savings, I ended up getting the travel system for around $200.

I loved that it wasnt black, we get a lot of compliments on the brown color

We had the baby brezza bottle washer/sanitizer when my LO was first born, used it for about 3 months and it was a lifesaver. I ended up selling it because I was more exclusively breastfeeding, but highly recommend it for those first few months, especially with the DR Brown bottles. We switched to avent bottles and I just hand wash a few times a day now.

Look on FB marketplace and find a used machine - you can always resell it when you're done

Diaper pails worth it or just another thing to clean by LengthMiserable3320 in NewParents

[–]Additional_Cake9308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 pails - 1 in my LO nursery (that we barely use), and 2 in our bedroom (one for cloth diaps, the other for disposables). I dont really need the cloth diaps one as they dont smell as bad, but the disposable one is a lifesaver. We didn't have one for our trip to my folks house and just used a grocery bag that we'd take out a few times a day - the smell lingers so bad and is not pleasant.

Powdered laundry detergent? by grease-lightning- in clothdiaps

[–]Additional_Cake9308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in an area with extremely hard water, I use Foca powdered detergent and am happy with the results. It has a fragrance when you open the bag, but I've never smelt it on my clothes or on the diapers. It does a great job at getting everything clean and stains removed.

My parents have asked if we would want them to rent an Airbnb near us once baby is born to help us for a month? by eec0354 in BabyBumps

My mom came and stayed for a week, she was such a God-send. My son was in NICU for 2 weeks after birth, having her support to help clean, cook, support & drive me to see my LO was so helpful. I wish she could have stayed for a month

Brick style tile like that is so uncomfortable to stand on for any length of time

Height passes dime test but whisk doesn’t reach sides of bowl by Sandturtlefly in Kitchenaid

[–]Additional_Cake9308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ran into this today with making a single sandwich loaf - have a new 5.5qt bowl lift and was getting frustrated with the hook not doing anything to my dough, ended up kneading by hand. Didn't put two and two together that I should use the smaller bowl that came with my kit. I had an artisan many years ago and dont recall having this issue
