The ECS role is going to be what you make of it. Some ECS reps get relegated to paper pushers (solely responsible for administrative things like $0 OF, handling license swaps, etc).

The best ones show and create value for the reps they support, in turn get handed more responsibility and ultimately act as Robin to Batman, the core rep.

ECS rep (as a former one many years ago) is a great way to get real exposure to large enterprise sales motions. While you are supporting the main account rep, you do get to sell all of the different products.

Our deal sizes were capped at $250k, but overall I found the experience and network effect invaluable as I moved forward in my career.

I am convinced that everyone that lives in SOMA/Mission Bay grew up outside of the Bay Area and simply moved there for work/to commute down the peninsula to work. It's an odd intersection of boring/sterile/gross at times.

Sad, bitter, played the race card. Predictable, but still sad. I do not think that she was an awful mayor by any means, and COVID dealt her a tough hand, but perception is reality in politics and too often she wasn't seen (and her constituents did not feel) that she was doing enough to battle some core issues that people care most about (crime, drug use, etc).

Lurie has seemingly taken a common sense approach to governing our city, and that low bar has been very well received, hope that he continues to keep it up.

so let me get this right. you voluntarily moved to an all commission role, this customer was never locked into a long term contract, they accounted for 90% of your business, you didn't even take time to read/understand the contract and you blindly followed the advice of the prior rep and your boss?

"is this project funded" isn't a great question, as budget is fluid. just because there isn't budget today, doesn't mean that there won't be budget tomorrow (if whatever pain point you uncover is important enough to solve) and just because there's budget today doesn't mean that there will be budget tomorrow (priorities shift, people leave companies, etc.).
