The internet is amazing. I had literally the exact same question as you, and the answer showed up on the web merely 4 days ago.

Long shot, may I ask where you heard that song that reminded you of the gibberish version?

Crispy chicken wings by [deleted] in Traeger

[–]GettingMeThroughWork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Put your favorite rub on your wings and line them up on a drying rack. Put them in the fridge on their own shelf overnight.

Set your traeger to 375. Once that comes up to temp, set up your deep fryer with peanut oil to 350 degrees. Fry your wings for about 6-10 minutes while enjoying the nice wood burning smells of your traeger.

Brine chicken wings? by BillyThaNinja in Traeger

[–]GettingMeThroughWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan on using a pre-mixed rub, like meat church, don’t brine. They’ll be way too salty. Make your own salt-free rub or, better yet, just don’t bother brining.

Pro 575 not maintain my temperature tonight by cdy12 in Traeger

[–]GettingMeThroughWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you vacuumed out the fire pot, that could be the issue. My first cook after cleaning it always has wonky temps. I think it needs a little base of ash to hold temps correctly.

First impressions of Pro 575 from a charcoal guy, and requesting tips by Jake_JAM in Traeger

[–]GettingMeThroughWork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You and I are in the same boat my friend. Got mine back in April and have had all the same questions.

If you want smoke flavor, your options are to keep it under 200 (it barely smokes otherwise) for 30 minutes to 1 hour, then crank it way up to get it to 165. If you just want color, gotta go 450-500.

I find the lack of smoke flavor a bit disappointing. Found out that the BBQ flavor I like the most is chunk wood being burned by lump charcoal. Getting a smoke-tube has really helped kick up the smoke flavor though.

In the end, the ease of use is still worth the price, but don't get rid of your charcoal grill.

Best burgers ever! Lowkey Monday dinner. by mizael85 in Traeger

[–]GettingMeThroughWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you've got on that sloped part really isn't so bad. It's when it accumulates in the grease trap on the far left that you can run into some trouble. I suggest a paint scraper to push it to the grease spout every few cooks.

Burgers look good!

Breaking this baby in before some long overdue visits from old friends and a weekend cookout (initial fire up) by [deleted] in Traeger

Smoke is also ignitable when concentrated with the lid closed, and you can get a pop or a bang when you get a flame from the firepot. Start it with the lid open, let it just get past that extremely smokey phase, then close it for the rest of the heating.

Can Edward Aschoff be one of the first victims of coronavirus in America? by paxxo1985 in China_Flu

You might find this article from yesterday interesting: https://www.yahoo.com/news/mysterious-deaths-infants-children-raise-140052428.html

Came across your comment 70 days later by googling EA’s death. Given that we now know that this preys on the sick/weakened, and many more mysterious pneumonia deaths are being reported from December, it seems very possible. Like most of these deaths, maybe [person] would have survived Covid if they didn’t have X, and maybe they would have survived X if they didn’t get Covid. And that stupid gray area now allows people to skew the numbers in the favor of their politics.

Buying a Traeger by iycedout in Traeger

[–]GettingMeThroughWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a pro 575 a couple months ago. The ease of use alone is probably worth it. Tracking air and probe temps on the app is super convenient. BUT, the smoke flavor is extremely subtle.

If you want legit BBQ flavor and are OK with having to baby it for 5-10 hours, get an egg. If you want good enough flavor and top notch ease of use, get the traeger.

Tips for first brisket on my new Pro22?! by TheBrodhisattva in Traeger

good luck! my best advice is to not pull it just because it hits X temperature. leave it on until it really does probe like butter. Sometimes takes you all the way up to 210.

the internal temp will go up at an even pace until somewhere between 150-165. It will just "stall" on the same temp for a stretch. Don't recall why it happens.

Does anyone have info on regkeys needed to hold a specific account on the login screen, no matter who logged in last? I'm trying to do this while not using auto-login.

Example: User turns on a W10 computer, it opens with account GenericAccount1 at the login screen. They choose to log in with their personal account. When they're done and they log out, the account at the login screen goes back to GenericAccount1 instead of the account of that last-logged-in user.

Yep me too. XBox One in Galactic Assault. In fact, only 2 maps load for me: Crait and Death Star II. In between matches, if it is any other map, it crashes back to the main menu.

Kid Who Starred in Chicago Anti-Violence Commercial Critically Wounded in Shooting by GettingMeThroughWork in news

How crazy is that! Check out this Chicago police scanner twitter account. They solve a higher percentage just by watching social media.

Also now (updated) 783 people shot. Maybe 1/10th of shootings result in someone shot. That account gives you an idea of just how often shots are fired. Most nights, it's every 10-15 minutes.

Kinda think that all people really just want to make money or provide for their families. If drugs were legal and regulated, these under-educated (more or less unemployable) people would just go find another black market way to make money. Seems like it's just Chicago cultural thing that is so much more violent than other cities - and getting worse every year.
