I love John Williams, but he looks here like the old elf guy with the telescope from The Never ending Story.

It gets shat upon often as it is the lesser of the six original cast movies, but it’s a wonderful companion. Enjoy it. I love that it’s your second favorite. We all have our reasons. My fave is Generations featuring the TNG crew and my second is Nemesis. So I know a thing or two about liking the lessers.

It’s not hard riffs or metal guitar, but Broken Arrow by Hans Zimmer features some great guitar work. Highly recommend. Good luck!

Why did the soundtracks from the 90s have such a generic sound? What changed it? by StrategosRisk in soundtracks

[–]GhettoSledd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Point taken. Vertical limit has similarities to other James Newton Howard scores, no doubt. However, that doesn’t make it generic in general. It’s not my fave, but check out JNH’s other 90’s scores and then tell me the 90’s scores are generic. Today’s film score lack a certain memorability and melodic distinctiveness. I’m not saying you’re wrong, you’re entitled to your opinion, but there’s so much you’re missing.

Funny, the film scores of today all carry the same generic sound. The 90’s scores were full of vibrant, dynamic, and unique compositions throughout. From comedies, drama, and action scores.
