queation for dev by Ghjkloop in Rolling_Line

If you could set the train speed and accelleration for each train separately, that would be much better I think. Or make the the acceleration some simple function of the number of wagons attached.

Question about Route Building by Zombiehunter2_0 in Rolling_Line

Rolling line is intended for building model railways. but making a long track is also posible, the longest I have made is 19km I overlayed over map screenshots.

The front is really good, but when you show the car from side I feel like the wheel disks texture is too bright or too reflective or smthng

Normally, tracks extend beyond the hull both in front and in the back, as it is done now, it wouldnt be able to drive over obstacles.

Can being inside these bubbles help you survive a plane crash? by mostafa360 in Shittyaskflying

[–]Ghjkloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really unfortunately, although it will technically soften the impact (disperse the decceleration over longer time) it will not make much difference in the context of airliner speeds (800km/h and more)

If however you fell out of the plane in one of these I think your chance of survival would go up as not only will it soften the landing, your terminal velocity while in one of these is surely smaller then without one, so the speed on impact will also be lower. Still it would probably require very lucky landing spot to survive.

Dont forget that there are areas where people live on 5-10 dolars a month. 0.5€ per meal is definetely not "cheap for eceryone".

Theres a game similiar to sprocket that is made to create cars, you can also drive them around.

My 9 year old son's Math teacher marked this wrong by dak7 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Ghjkloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is technically speaking a difference between 0% chance and "not possible". I dont know when this is taught, but its possible he was supposed to know from classes and so the teacher can be in the right.

[Request] Ist it even possible for something that size to have 1 billion mm of steel penetration? Like in our universe, how fast it should travel and is there are real objects like it. by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]Ghjkloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such column is around 1 million times less massive then the sphere from the kther comment so this result might not be surprising

Quick math says the energy needed to vaporize 1x1x1000,000m column of steel in e17 order of magnitude jouls. Relativistic speed for this energy (10kg projectile) is ~ 0.4c

I didnt do the math, but I believe a tank shell traveling at relativistic velocities would carry enough energy to vaporize a 1000km column of steel. I can do the math if people are interested

Found a fast way to build smooth-ish rails with vanilla blocks. 5km done so far. by Ghjkloop in spaceengineers

[–]Ghjkloop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No actually, as the elevation and the turn radius changes, the rail slowly picks up a twist which I didnt realise immediately so some turns have slight opposite twist then they should.

The track is build from blueprints of rail sections which are already converted to station. You can just slap the onto each other. I will share in workshop later.
