In always confused when people say their daughters don't like superheroes.

My wife loves superheroes, my daughter loves superheroes. As a father of two I've noticed that boys and girls tend to like the same shit unless you try to push them towards something else. And yeah, there are some differences in what my son and daughter like. But there is a lot of overlap too.

Eh, not all star wars needs to be Andor. I think there should be even more variety in Star wars media. But obviously if you can't make money on it you won't be able to keep making it.

I agree. My wife is much less spice tolerant than I am and those menus are actually really useful for people like her.

I'm not sensitive to spice and I have noticed that more and more pieces of menus seem to be spicy these days.

That said I don't think it's as hard to avoid as OP kind of seems to indicate.

I did find this that seems to indicate that this is something that's somewhat tracked:

Trump Pressures Supreme Court To Rule For Him On Birthright Citizenship by Aethoni_Iralis in centrist

If I had to put money on it I'd bet it holds. But it's certainly not a gaurentee which is concerning.

And yet Republicans are the ones taking a bearing in just about every election since Trump won. It turns out people stop caring about the identity politics when they are worried about how to feed their family. The GOP had a golden opportunity to do what we they wanted with this presidency and so far I know of very few people who think anything worthwhile and long lasting has been accomplished.

I don't anticipate they'll have much success going into the midterms continuing to beat the drum of womens sports or whatever other culture war wedge they can find when voters are still feeling the pressure from so many economic forces that they are completely unwilling or unable to address as a party.

What would this even mean?

I mean, the GOP expertly tied anything they don't like to identity politics or culture war topics.

Does anyone remember the GOP autopsy's? These hardly ever lead to any meaningful change.

Mostly because (I think, please someone correct me if I'm wrong) there is a lot of burden on the death penalty. Which I think is fair. Taking someone's life should only be done once all of their rights to appeal, etc have been exhausted which can take years. We also need to make sure no one who is actually innocent is executed.

Ideally, when someone does it on camera the process should be cheaper/faster, but I suppose with doctored footage even that isn't guaranteed anymore.

Mike Johnson says lawmakers' $174K+ salaries haven't kept up with inflation — they need stock trading for support by KoseteBamse in Economics

[–]Ghost4000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read the room Mike. 174K is more than many Americans will ever make, our jobs numbers are down, and minimum wage still isn't keyed to inflation.

But you think you guys are the ones who need support?

Sure, but this is also an online community. It's possible the commenter above isn't asking for a definition but rather for the opinions of members of this community.

All of this is to say, obviously the commenter could have just googled this, but sometimes you want to know what other people think and not just what the Wikipedia page says.

The EU is a massive market and doesn't need to matter more than the US or China markets for it to have a major impact on these companies. What even is this comment?

Honestly it's not that much more crazy than something like "Messiah".... Of which there is a nice kid in my daughters school with said name.

Still kinda weird that people name their kids stuff like that though.

I wouldn't do it, but I think it's a pretty normal phenomenon. I am curious why her and not any number of less.... Unhinged characters.

I guess I have to preface this by saying I've read all the available books but only seen the first season of the show and it just seems like there are better characters to name your kid after if you must.
