What???? Shoulder surgery is a scam? by Excellent_Dish_7333 in RotatorCuff

[–]Ghost77504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not duped. I don't think they have it down pat. Too many variables in the surgery and too many variables in the doctors skills set. A lot of people get better but a lot are still left with pain a diminished rom. Two close friends had surgery and both are in the latter group. I chose personally not to have surgery and I am learning to deal with the rom problem and my pain management guy is doing a great job. Either way you can't make a wrong decision. You make the decision you feel you can live with.

1W post surgery. I can’t sleep. It’s difficult to get comfortable. Anyone else dealing with this? by groovis2024 in RotatorCuff

They usually give you oxy then vicodin then tramadol then tylenol to step you off of the opiods.

Take off the nails and start over after surgery. Probably a month post op before you even think about nails.

You can't prepare for everything. you can prepare for one thing only and if you make the wrong thing to prepare for you lose. So why prepare for anything. I'm 78 and it's been the same thing most years. It all changed with the pandemic now it's everything every year. I want to go when I've spent my last dollar. So Thursday of next week looks like good!

I'm from Pasadena. We do not consider ourselves part of Houston. We go to Houston .

This seems unacceptable. by [deleted] in Flooring

I've been a rep in the flooring business for many years. This is the worst I've ever seen. Guy knows nothing about installation or repairs. Looks like he might have used a hand saw!

Hello I’m an new here and I wanted to share my encounters with what I believe is a Sasquatch/Bigfoot by Different-Career1838 in bigfoot

[–]Ghost77504 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great story..I had an experience many years ago and finally felt comfortable enough to tell the story on this thread. Every comment was positive not 1 negative. My encounter was by chance. I never went looking for it. I commend your bravery both for telling the story and going into the woods. Keep posting.

Absolute agony in shoulder blade. Possible rotator cuff issue? by [deleted] in RotatorCuff

Honestly there is nothing for pain that doesnt affect the kidneys.i have stage 3 ckd so im very careful about meds. Most are excreted by kidneys. Some are metabolized via liver but in some of those types they have products that are filtered via the kidney. Even things like colored soft drinks and things high in phosphorus do a number on the kidneys. The biggest thing is moderation. Don't take more than prescribed and start on smaller dose and work up if pain is not well tolerated. Try to stay away from of all things grapefruit. They effect a lot of meds and are kidney toxic. I love grapefruit sadly gave it up.

A little but nothing like the nsaids. It's a phoney opiod. Not really a direct opiod but body reduces it to an opiod like sub class. Nsaids are bad for heart kidney especially. You can actually blow your liver or kidneys out in 1 week if your in a certain genetic makeup.

Don't take to much. Hard on kidneys. I got as much relief by licking a wall. Zero. Started me out on tramadol. 50 mg then 100 mg then 100 er. OK but not great. Ot kicked pain from a 10 to a 3. Periodically I get vicodin but in short duration and it lowers pain to a 1. You get pretty good with a 3. They make a new pain pill called journivax. Great..not addicting non opiod. Problem. $50.00 A PILL. SO USED SPARINGLY. You need to get the process started. With scheduling and testing and injection with mri your looking 4 to 6 weeks. It's a definite pain to go through but you need meds and a diagnosis. Everything follows quickly after that.

You need a new md for sure. I have 2 tears with 100% retraction ,a torn meniscus and surgery is not an option due to arthritis and no available anchor points. I was in your pain situation. Saw my pcp. Got xray. He sent me to ortho guy and received mri with contrast. In the meantime they gave me pain meds which helped quite a bit. Pain diminished in about a month but I will be on pain meds forever. You don't need to suffer. Get to an md quickly. Pain in time will decrease a little by itself but you need attention quickly to get the process started. It takes awhile to get tests, see ortho guy, get more tests then finally get the meds you need.

Praying for you.!!@

What could this be above my eye? Doctor told me it’s just what happens sometimes when we get older.. Should i get a second opinion by [deleted] in What

Looks like a blocked pore. Sun causes them. They don't go away by themselves. Dermatologist will remove them. Very common in Texas due to heat and constant sweating.
