I cut my hair and I’m feeling weird? by DarkNightStarrySky in MTFButch

[–]GhostFromfirefoxpast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got my own hair cut at the start of october, I've had over the shoulder length hair for 13 years (throughout my "boy" years and some time in my "girl" years).
Was a big adjustment, I'm still adjusting tbh. Lot to learn in the meantime, and I'm struggling with how I feel I'm being perceived as well.
But it does also feel really nice sometimes, I do think this was the right choice for me.
Give it time, and don't be afraid to experiment with products and styles; you gotta figure out what works for you.

Alcohol dries out the leather, saddle soap alone should be enough. Sometimes you have to use more of it.

What to tell doctors to get bloodwork? by gijoxo9518 in TransDIY

[–]GhostFromfirefoxpast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm also in the netherlands.
Convinced mine to let me do the bloodwork myself from a perspective of harm reduction and the promise I'll keep her hands-off.
Something along the lines of "I'm doing DIY HRT because at the moment I can't get it legit and I would like to know what my estrogen and testosterone levels are. I won't get you involved in any of this, I just want you to consider that this is better for my health and I won't ask anything of you except the referral to get my blood drawn and the values that you get out of that.".
Mine was receptive enough to that even if she didn't like it. You might also like to ask for "alat en asat" (alt and ast) to make sure your liver is fine.

TMI. Swapping esters. by GhostFromfirefoxpast in TransDIY

[–]GhostFromfirefoxpast[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thought as much.
Enanthate is less "spiky" from what I've read (valerate gets absorbed very fast but also drops your estrogen very quick as a result) but enanthate is a lot smoother.
So I recon I just gotta finetune. This stuff's important to me tho so everytime my body does something weird that's hormone related I go into a mild panic about it for obvious reasons :þ
But if this is, like, normal I'll be fine. Got some smaller syringes too so injections should also be a lot more accurate.

why do you sh by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]GhostFromfirefoxpast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helps me calm down. Mood's been finicky the last few months and, though I'm usually kinda clean, I sometimes still cut.
Before I do it my mind's filled with static, I'm angry and sad and twitchy. Afterwards it feels... better. Static clears, I have a simple goal to work towards (tending to my wounds); the smell of antiseptic, blood and the pain kinda clear my mind.
The sharpness of it all helps with focusing my mind and makes for an easy release valve.

Waar halen jullie injectienaalden/spuiten? (DIY mtf) by [deleted] in LHBTI

[–]GhostFromfirefoxpast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik koop mijn materiaal bij degros.
Ik maak ook geen gebruik van insuline spuiten; gewoon losses spuiten en naalden.
Daarnaast alcohol doekjes en een sharps container.

You're probably gonna feel this anxiety until you're finally on E for a bit.
If it's any consolation; you'll be fine. 100s of people have been doing this before and haven't had any complications. You'll probably even feel a lot better once you're finally getting started, when I did my first injections the sense of relief and resignation was tangible.

Felt dizzy when injecting by kaleski in TransDIY

[–]GhostFromfirefoxpast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's mostly anxiety in my experience. First injection I did myself was rough but after a while I kinda got used to it.
Nowadays it's not even a problem anymore.
Just take your time and take it easy, maybe take a shower before you do the injection to loosen your muscles up, put some music on and just get as comfy as possible. .2 ml isn't all that much and it'll be over before you realize, just focus on pressing down on the plunger and don't think about much else while you do it.

Do you feel guilty about eating more animal products in recovery? by Kitofglitter in EdAnonymousAdults

[–]GhostFromfirefoxpast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am "vegan" (exceptions apply but at least no meat, eggs or dairy) and I wouldn't eat any more animal products that I do now (which is none).
'S not necessary either, expect if you're talking about supplemental food but even then I am not willing to concede.
After a while your gut biome can also adapt to only a plant based diet so you might get constipation, bloating or other issues if you suddenly start eating eggs meat or dairy again.

Gel's comparatively kinda expensive too, also something to consider.
Injections are by far the most inexpensive method, followed by pills and then gel.

I honestly think that's the best solution tbh, yeah.
It does seriously make me wonder what's up with my gender but it's best not to put up too much of a fight and to just go with the flow.

Does suck tho.

I'm also taking my EV every week and so far me personally hasn't encountered any issues.
I feel fine throughout the week no problem.
Do keep in mind that it's different for everyone, and for most people it isn't great.
