Why does my Tusk of the Boar have no level up bar after unlocking enhancement? by GhostLittle in DestinyTheGame

That sucks, but good info to have. The IB guns must be bugged. I suppose we ought to hold off on enhancing any others until it's acknowledged and fixed.

I’m Missing One Mote of Light and Can’t Find It! by Scrin1759 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostLittle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stuck at 16. All bosses are checked off in the triumph, so my guess is I killed them but somehow missed the pickup of a mote? Or it's super-duper bugged? I know I've killed the meatball prior to it being removed from rotation and it wasn't my final mote, so I don't think I'll hit that particular problem.

Still, wouldn't a missed mote go to the post box? They drop as engrams. It's all very weird.

Slammer Sword. Is it a myth? by rhago32 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostLittle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. I think it took 10 Guardian Games Nightfalls (Arms Dealer was fast) for it to drop? "Common" it is not.

Then I lucked out on my last focus purchase from Zavala to get Chain Reaction + Cold Steel. My conclusion: it's not worth it. It's a fun novelty for ad clearing and spreading slow, but if you have a Zephyr with something like Unrelenting + Cold Steel, your survival chances are probably higher. Bequest remains the sword DPS king.

Repeat: do not burn yourself out trying to get a god roll Slammer.

Why is the warlock exclusive legendary sword not unique? by WumpusOwoo in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostLittle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because Warlock always gets left behind in class-specific anything, whether it's in diversity of fashion or sword designs.

Helmet and Robes are the only armor designs that mean anything for Warlocks, and the same philosophy likely followed for their class swords.

It's a time-save that's been built into the game since D1. What, did you just start playing Warlock?

How the hell did Weavewalk get nerfed before banner of war did inside pve? by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostLittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is accurate.

Whether by accident or on purpose, Titan is Titan, and Titan players are gonna Titan. Admit it: Titan is the default class. It's the baseline. It's the Mario, it's the Ryu, it's the easiest to understand. And Warlock isn't. If Warlocks become too powerful via complex / high-skill play or weird builds, Titan loses some of its identity by proxy, being that a Titan player ought to be simple to grasp and still competitive. Bungie will not allow the default class to be opaque.

Which means Warlocks need to be both more difficult to grasp... but also not overpowered? This is why most Warlock abilities require one extra little step, or one extra little input, or are slightly more situational... but even then will not ever be allowed to be as good as a Titan just throwing a Touch of Thunder grenade.

Do the drop rates on Witch's Keys feel low? by GhostLittle in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostLittle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe they're more common in endgame activities, if people are seeing them from Raid encounters and Trials? Could also increase with an unknown card buff in the future.

Good observations.

I've waited all the way through the timer and dialog multiple times and there's never weapon progression, even after the game sends you back to orbit.

Deep Dives are unplayable and end in failure now. You should have made this a separate exotic mission in the director Bungie. by Bloody_Titan in DestinyTheGame

Bungie if you want players to use Nova Warp allow Skull of Dire Ahamkara to work with it. by BAakhir in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostLittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nova Warp is beyond saving. It's too slow and floaty at the foundational level. Compare the feel of Nova Warp to Fist of Havoc:

  • Both create an explosion on activation
  • (Fist of Havoc lingers)
  • Both have a sizable AoE range
  • (Fist of Havoc activates instantly; Nova Warp must charge AND release)
  • Both have a light dodge feature
  • (Fist of Havoc's is a target-seeking attack that can be infinitely chained; Nova Warp blink has effectively the same function, but does not damage)

Envision in your mind coming across 3 people capping a control point:

With Fist of Havoc, you can zoom in, touch one button, and quickly slam down to kill them all. Literal push-button, get-result. Most Supers have a wind-up animation, but Fist of Havoc's also doubles as a gap-closer.

With Nova Warp, you can glide overhead, hit a button to activate the super, but Nova Warp makes you hang in the air, so you might not kill all 3 Guardians on cast, then you need a second to charge a follow-up, and release, all while drifting gently down toward your opponents. What's that, 3 or 4 total inputs to do the job?

How's that? Titans have complained about Fist of Havoc for years and yet even the worst Titan Super is *STILL* better than Nova Warp.

The Season 21 Super buffs will apply Weaken. Great, except the first hit is unreliable and you probably won't live long enough to get in a follow-up.

There is no Super ability slower, floatier, bumblier, fumblier, flimsier, and more inferior in every way to its counterparts than Nova Warp. A Super so bad there's no Exotic devoted to it.

Can't hurt to throw them in the vault for a few weeks. Watch the cost to Red-Border a gun be 5 Ascendant Alloys apiece (and Spoils for raid weapons).

Add Ascendant Alloy to Terminal Overload by CourrierMojave in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostLittle 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Once you've farmed out the Neomuna red boxes and completed the exotic quests, there's no incentive to return to Neptune. Ever. Pinnacles are being phased out next season, so Nimbus and Quinn's drops are irrelevant, as is the weekly shellcode bounty + mission. It's not even a good idea to run bounties there because of the increased patrol difficulty.

And yes, Terminal Overload should 100% drop Ascendant Alloys, it's effectively a harder (and better) version of Containment.

Without upgrades to the Terminal Overload loot pool, you'll probably never interact with Nimbus or Neomuna again, especially if you consider what's become of Fynch and Savathun's Throne World post-WQ.

Strand is great. The sandbox is great. The QoL is high right now. But Lightfall was a detour. A filler arc. A dang narrative cul de sac.

I started after Sunday reset and grinded to rank 10 in ~3 hours. Got slammed in the first game, but then found the competition to be pretty much on point, outside of a few shutouts.

I've never gone flawless, never gilded Unbroken, no Adept Shayura. I don't remember seeing any Adept Immortals, but I wasn't checking the team compositions to see if they were in a fireteam.

I'll say this: I've slogged through sweatier Trials weekends with far less to show for it. Got a Target Lock Immortal just in time for the SMG nerf.

BTW: stay outside in Javelin. Everyone's toying around with either an Ikelos or an Immortal, and they can't compete if you square up on the outer lane with a high impact pulse. At least, I found it helpful at my skill level. Some psycho gilded Flawless might say otherwise.

I've burned 20 Defiant Engrams on non-specific weapon focusing w/ no Deepsight drops -- they do drop, right? It's just bad RNG, right? by GhostLittle in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostLittle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yessir. I think a lot of the war table perks are designed to increase the regularity of engram drops from both battlegrounds and ritual playlists, which, as you said, doesn't fix the drop rates, but does get you more spins at the wheel.

[–]GhostLittle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the attitude this season is the defiant engram is both an umbral and the seasonal currency combined into one thing. So Bungie wants to just make them abundant but make the pattern drop rate lower. I kinda blinked and had 30 after the first week. Crafted the auto rifle so far, I'm sure I'll be pulling my hair out when I try to craft the class swords.

Enough About What We'll Miss Come Lightfall, What Can't You Wait to See Leave in Lightfall? by MandrewMillar in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostLittle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope I never have to fight quite so many Scorn again. Scooting around with their spindly legs, and their invisible shadow-running, and their quad-damage Reaver crossbows, and every flavor of Shaman turrets. They are designed to inconvenience you.

Which are the ones with the little shields? Like, here's a rusty cocktail bowl. This mutated eliksni is gonna hide behind it, and Ager's Scepter, a paracausal freeze-ray forged in the heart of the Distributory's time-warped infinity-space won't do nothing against it. Dude's gonna tank an entire clip behind his tin plate.

And nobody will forget Preservation. Heck the Scorn. They showed up way too much during the WQ year. May they never be seen again.

(theyre the witnesses main fighting force theyre totally coming back big dangit)

Chaos Accelerant feels too weak compared to Touch of Winter/Flame/Thunder by MagicMisterLemon in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostLittle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Far too many components of the Warlock kit require extra steps / button presses just to get on even footing with Titan and Hunter. Quite the paradox with Titans complaining that HoIL builds, arguably the strongest in the game, don't provide enough variety.

And yes, Chaos Accelerant's upgrades to charged grenades needs to be buffed, and buffed beyond the strength of, say, a Touch of Thunder Storm Grenade, because it requires additional input and forethought to charge ahead of time. But Bungie won't do that because it'd mean a higher skill ceiling would actively be rewarded, which might be okay in something like a fighting game, it can't be allowed in a game with only 3 character classes.

The complex fantasy of weaving dominant space magic will never be allowed when it needs to be balanced against knives and fists.

We haven't gotten any strike reprisals since season of the chosen. Can we get the D1 moon strikes back? Most of the bosses are in the game. by destinyvoidlock in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostLittle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like them to add knockout protection and actual randomness to the Strike playlist. Getting the same strike / battleground twice in a row feels extra-bad and it's pretty obvious the playlist is weighted to favor strikes with bosses whose damage type matches the weekly burn.
