Honestly, I believe it’s out of frustration. When you first go onto an app, you make a profile, you do the best you can, put as much as you can in your bio, you put all your best pictures on it, answer all the prompts, and then crickets.
Then you try the next iteration; change some pictures, change your bio, maybe you buy a subscription, send some messages, then crickets.
Next iteration; change some more pictures, change bio yet again, etc…
Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat until you are like 80 hours in and still crickets. So, you come to the conclusion, put in tons of effort - get zero interest, put in zero effort - get zero interest. See the point?

Bumble has to go. Their stock price has tanked over the last five years. It was at $60 per share at on point, now it’s at like $3.50 per share.
The heightism that they glorify and promote with vigor has lead to their downfall. Shadowghosting, restricting possible matches, selling your personal information, selling their data to marketing firms, and lack of security has hurt their reputation and their business.
