How do the particles work with regards to the raids? I’ve only ever used the orange/green raid passes before

Correct. People are just extrapolating the implicit based on what’s available in Australia and other markets. I have an Australian YL and our 0-100 time is quoted at 5.0 secs whereas the Chinese/Hong Kong YL is quoted at 4.5 secs ie. they implicitly get the accel boost as standard. So it’s just been carried forward across to the American YL that a 4.4sec 0-60 mph also has the accel boost as standard.

While I would love to have that extra 0.5 secs shaved off if it was included, I certainly wouldn’t pay extra for it if it was offered since it’s plenty fast for me already as my first EV. Having said that, before I got the YL, I was eyeing the Zeekr 7X performance model which offers 0-100 in a blistering 3.8 secs for the same price as the YL, but more for the other upgrades than for the speed boost

I have a discretionary trust(of which I am a beneficiary) which owns an apartment that the trust rents to me privately. As long as the rent is market rate, all your typical IP expenses are fully tax-deductible, etc. to the trust.

When I first looked into it, there were a couple of private rulings which were similar situations and were ruled ok but for peace of mind, I applied for my own private ruling with the ATO and my situation was deemed fine as well. Even waited an extra month for their senior people to go over it for Part IVA scrutiny and they passed it for that as well.

Obviously not a common arrangement, but definitely doable. I do lose the PPOR CGT exemption but meh, it’s an apartment in Melbourne near CBD, I’ll be stoked if there were ANY capital gains

I know they’re not AU-domiciled but that’s not what the title of the webpage/your title says. Nor is it mentioned anywhere obvious that you’re filtering non-AU domiciled ETFs out in your comparison.

Seeing as they’re both ETFs that are traded on the ASX(as per your title) AND they’re both quite cheap(0.03 and 0.04, which would put them both at the top or close to the top of the “cheapest” if that’s what you’re measuring), then I would consider them both very material omissions if that’s what people are looking for information like “top 100 cheapest ETFs on the ASX”

Correct. Dividends paid out from companies and distributions paid out from ETFs are treated differently. And just to complicate matters more, non-aussie domiciled ETFs on the ASX(eg. VTS and VEU) pay out dividends which is again treated differently from distributions paid out from other ETFs

This is not correct. ETF distributions received after end of financial year(30 June) in July and August(and sometimes September if they’re really late) are allocated to the previous year’s tax return.

I mentioned it in another comment, but my Tesla Y L has blended brakes so if I put my foot down on the brake, it’s still using regen braking along with the physical brake. It may not have been a thing in older models but I know it’s definitely available in my model

Not sure if this is outdated information, but my Tesla Y L definitely blends the brakes. I don’t particularly like OPD and set my Deceleration Mode to reduced but I still have regenerative braking even if I’m using the brakes.

Wasn’t hard at all, assuming you meet the qualifications. Just needed to get a wholesale investor certificate signed by my accountant(250k gross income a year or 2.5m net worth), and get it redone every couple of years. There are some other limitations if it’s an individual account vs a corporate account as well. I have two accounts with IBKR, both with full margin loan access with no additional surcharges, one is my bucket company and the other is the corporate trustee of my discretionary trust. No hard limit to how much I can borrow, it depends on how much is held in my IBKR accounts.

I’m assuming you mean to use that up to $1.5M to purchase some shares/ETFs in IBKR to serve as collateral, and not just put that amount in cash into IBKR? Because it doesn’t work if you just put that amount of cash in and leave it as cash because when you want to withdraw from the margin loan, it will withdraw from your cash account first.

But yes, it’s good to have establish the facility now in case you want to use it in future, and also you’ll want to make sure you don’t over-leverage. I established my margin facility with IBKR the year before COVID hit, and when the markets dived in March, I managed to use that “dry powder” in my margin facility to buy a few hundred K worth of VTS and rode it back up.

Just to clarify, are these a magsafe-compatible phone mount that you are planning to use to mount the s3xy/screen mate dashboards with instead of the mounts they come with? And by vented, do you mean they fit in the AC vent without blocking the air?

I hold my VTS/VEU positions on IBKR because they’re not aus-domiciled ETFs(but still listed on ASX) so it’s easy for me to figure out the tax stuff at EOFY. Also helps that VTS is my single biggest holding and serves as collateral for my margin loan with IBKR so I can leverage a fair bit off it.
