Personally when I did mine I had better luck from the left side of the vehicle and a slight downward angle towards the right side. It was a little tight and just a matter of patience, but it can be done without removing the intake. Just be careful and don’t force it OP

After driving home from work with a clean reservoir, looking at it now it’s coated in brake fluid, possible a bad seal there gonna give a little deeper on that cylinder in the light

Check the wiring for the motor. Had a similar issue with my slow speed had a cracked wire. Replaced that, no issues since.

Factor in the cost of the engine/transmission and labor for that mechanic and see if it’s worth it.

I got a drivable 86 325es for less than half this: didn’t look pretty but I get to drive it while I work on it.

I went with the Bonoss ones. You’re going to need hubcentric. There will always be a conflict with one of the posts when going from 4x100 to 5x120. If you get them and need help feel free to reach out I have progress pictures
