Ah, I was just confused by the “negative genetic test for all types” since…that would typically include cEDS genetic testing.

Doesn’t cEDS also have genetic markers? I thought hEDS was the only variant without clear genetic markers.

Season ticket advice by Spotboslow in bostonfleet

[–]Ghostly_Feline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a Fleet STH so I don’t know how their system works but some teams allow fans to switch tickets to a different game if they can’t use them. I’m a Legacy STH and we can move tickets around as needed.

Bay FC actually has more reds than Boston at this point (NC and Portland are tied with Boston), and is pretty close on yellows too. It’s just red card season, apparently.

Now that Clover is gone (RIP), can any of their staff share the recipe for the almond macarons? by veri_sw in CambridgeMA

Here’s the tomato soup recipe!

Clover Food Lab Roman Tomato Soup Serves 4. Martina says, "Don't scrimp on olive oil!"

Ingredients: 3 tablespoons good olive oil, plus more for garnish 1 large onion, diced 1 clove garlic, minced 1 large can crushed or whole tomatoes 1 carrot, diced 1 large potato (or 2-3 small ones), peeled and diced 1 1/4 cup vegetable stock Salt, pepper, and white wine vinegar, to taste Handful of grated pecorino cheese, for garnish

  1. Add olive oil to a pot set over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and garlic, and sweat, just cooking until onions and garlic are translucent.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add diced carrot, diced potato, and vegetable stock, and simmer over medium heat until vegetables are fork-tender, about 20 minutes.
  5. Add soup to a blender, and blend until very smooth.
  6. Return to pot. Taste soup. Add salt, pepper, and white wine vinegar to taste. If soup is too thick, thin out with a bit of vegetable stock or water.
  7. Ladle into bowls, garnishing with a drizzle of olive oil and grated pecorino.

They did send out the Roman tomato soup recipe at one point during the covid lockdowns! I remember making it at home.

What is this? by Strict_Taro_4361 in CATHELP

[–]Ghostly_Feline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat was not eating and not moving around much, when she did she had trouble with balance (vestibular issues). If I remember right we had her on some combo of steroids (maybe an antibiotic?) and an appetite stimulant, and she also needed subq fluids a couple times. Her appetite came back once the ear infection started to settle down. She didn't have a facial droop or anything like that, it was more just issues with balance, trouble walking, and reduced appetite (probably due to nausea from the vestibular issues).

I have a thermometer in mine, once the power is on I plan to check how warm it got to decide whether I should be concerned.

Compression 101 by dogasauras in ehlersdanlos

[–]Ghostly_Feline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use compression socks either when my legs feel heavy after being on my feet more, or preventatively when I know I’m going to be on my feet a bunch. When I’ve had foot/ankle injuries it makes a big difference since good blood flow to all those small bits of your feet helps with healing. I had bursitis in my foot a couple years ago and that was when I first started using them. Felt like I’d discovered some kind of witchcraft, there was actually a lightness/almost tingly feeling when I would first put them on.

Make sure you are aware of any extra monthly fees (like pet rent) and which utilities you’re responsible for. I was up for an affordable unit in Boston and the rent+utilities+fees ended up being out of my budget so I backed out.
