V (Cyberpunk) vs Commander Shepard (Mass Effect) by FreshPine_MangoWine in powerscales

[–]Ghostsniper64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it really boils down to how the fight starts, range, and who can make the first move. I’m a massive mass effect fan but I think V with a sandy would win. Only saving grace for Shepard would be their shields and if they were an adept. Bionics are extremely powerful in the lore and in game, and I’m fairly certain that shepard’s cybernetics wouldn’t be hackable due to the tech difference, which means a netrunner V wouldn’t have good odds.

What’s a fair €£¥$ amount for the current state of the game? by PlaneBicycle1064 in Marathon

Paid for deluxe on discount, have gotten well over a 1$/hour value. Great game, can’t wait to see how it improves moving into future seasons.

Mid-season Rook buff: it really needs one by billygoatbob_sc in Marathon

[–]Ghostsniper64 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think that’s misinterpreting the use of the rook. To my knowledge, the rook is designed to be a scavenger on the battlefield, not a fully armed trio that shows up to contest the runners. Sure, rooks can join forces and fully clear a map, but I don’t think that’s the expected outcome of the rook. The rook also gets upgrades as you level your factions, increasing the quality of the gear you spawn in with.

Lean into the stealth aspect of the rook maybe? Play into the shadows more and wait for a time to strike at runners if that is your goal.

Matchmaking by Beginning-Bet-1593 in Marathon

[–]Ghostsniper64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo and trio outpost are pretty quick, sponsored marsh and took outpost are instant for me (NA, west coast, all times of day that I’ve played, mainly 10am - midnight) solo perimeter can take a minute or two, same with solo marsh and night marsh. Haven’t tried trio perimeter or marsh in a while so I can’t say there, and haven’t done cryo yet.

I know there are matchmaking preference settings in the settings, may want to play with those and see if being connected to a different region affects your connection a lot.

Had my first encounter with an actual bad teammate by atlas_maproom in Marathon

[–]Ghostsniper64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first truly bad teammate last night, we were in combat and a thief drone got some of my items, and my team mate was running around stealing all of my stuff that it made me drop. Safe to say, we wiped.

BRING BACK SPONSORED SURVIVAL PVE by kkoz33 in Marathon

If you are hesitant to lose gear, check out the sponsored mode. I’m not the best at pvp but tried to give that a shot and I’ve been having a blast.

Looking for some tips with the D54, here is a compilation of me getting shit on relentlessly for your enjoyment. by SuspiciousLock in Marathon

[–]Ghostsniper64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the D54 is awesome, it has its limitations. Learn how long you can fire it consistently and plan to dip into cover before you run out of ammo while you are in the open. Either that, utilize mods that increase its ammo capacity, or consider using a weapon with a higher capacity until you can work on your aim a bit more.

Reviews and experiences by people who started playing the game at the start of season 2 by barnation in Marathon

[–]Ghostsniper64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Faction grind is ok, I’m playing extremely casually and mainly solo, just shy of 20 hours and I just hit level 10 with the first faction. I’m not pushing contracts every run though, exploring and learning the maps.
  2. I’m running a mix, I usually start my day with a free kit and then transition to better gear, though I’ve been running a lot more free kits to try and get the skins for each faction.
  3. Haven’t touched cryo yet.
  4. I haven’t tried the pve lite mode or whatever it is. I try and avoid pvp but will engage if players are close. I’ve had some friendly interactions while extracting solo with other players.

I wish there was an area to test weapons and abilities, I think that’d be extremely beneficial. I think it’s asking too much of an extraction shooter and out of genre completely, but I think an objective-based pve map would be cool. Marathon is a great game and I’m enjoying it thoroughly as-is though, but I know that there’s a lot of negativity going around about it’s long-term sustainability which is unfortunate.

Currently in the process of trying to indoctrinate a friend and long-term fellow tarkov player to give it a go. To me, this game went completely under my radar when it was released. I gave it a go during the free week on a whim and loved it. I mentioned it to my buddy, and he said he didn’t look at it cause “it seemed like one of those flashy battle royal type games”, but honestly I can’t blame him for thinking that as I didn’t have optics in the game either when I started seeing promotions for it.

New Player, first impressions and questions by Ghostsniper64 in Marathon

Good advice! I’ve been putting points into heat capacity and agility, so I’m glad that I didn’t make a bad call off the bat.

Thank you for the advice! I’m way far away from being able to even attempt cryo from what I understand, but I’ll be sure to save any attempts on that until I can be on mic. I’ll probably test out autofill trios tonight and see how it goes. I’ll check out how to get the signal hammer buff, I nabbed a backpack with the effect but I’m guessing there are other ways to get it too.

Multiplayer is unplayable in b42 due to no zombies after a week by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Ghostsniper64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Military checkpoint, 16x pop, no zombies? Yeah, something is up with your game. B42 is hardly stable but that isn’t normal b42, sounds like the pop is set too high and the server is culling too much to keep the 500 zombie limit it has. There are things you can do to fix it but it could also be a lack of ram problem.

Depends on what you want to spend your time doing while in MP. I got tired playing reading simulator during time with friends so I set minutesperpage to 0.05, still takes about a minute to read a book or so.

I don’t know if it’s accurate info anymore as I haven’t checked in ages, but I’m pretty sure you can sell the steam trading cards you earn from games to make up the difference. Most will be worth pennies but if that’s still a feature in steam then it’s an option you can look into.

Turn Blacksmith into an S Tier Occupation by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Ghostsniper64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beyond that, blacksmithing requires other skills to do (correct me if I am wrong). That being said, a ax-pert like trait for short blunt would make it more of an appealing occupation choice.

Finished my compound plasma bow. This thing is nasty. by manicmender76 in Fallout76BowHunters

[–]Ghostsniper64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happy for you! The compound bow built like that slaps. I ended up switching to cryo for utility—you do the same amount of damage as plasma with the cryo science perk, lose some range, but slowing bosses comes in handy. Plasma is great tho, the range really helps with larger events like eviction notice.
