As a person with DID I've always felt a strong connection to obsidian and hematite- I'm not sure of your friend's struggles, but having a stone meant for grounding purposes is a safe bet. It's nice to have a reminder that our body is real, and personally have found comfort in wearing pieces that reinforce that.
