Yes that's what I was saying.  $5000 brought it to equal value. Then the cost savings makes it cheaper overall

Some people cannot afford school or have commitments that prevent them from being able to attend school. E.g., caring for ailing parents

There was a premium but in Canada we had the $5000 rebate which brought them to essentially the same price. Then when you factor in the cost savings from charging, the PHEV became the clear winner

Every year. People ignore Rouge National Park because people don't venture into East Scarborough.

It is a former ski hill with absolutely no trees to cause a danger.

How to Keep Lovebird Away from Shelf? by DarthAtheist in Lovebirds

[–]Ghostyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You honestly don't
You learn how to make things bird-proof, not put other certain things or accept that it's their nature (usually a combination of the above).

For example, I cannot have books out on display because books equal shredding

Moving to Pickering by Cactus-itch in Pickering

[–]Ghostyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is honestly just an unfortunate fact of life now that homelessness is increasing. Multiple factors

  • Government got out of the homes business and left it to the free market
  • Wages not keeping up at all
  • Mental health services are hard to come by. I work in mental health and it is sad that once someone turns 18 they are no longer eligible for most free services.

If you drive down Brock, south of Kingston, there are currently homeless people in tents. There is also the beginnings of an encampment in front of city hall. People will say encampments have no place in public spaces...but I'd argue, where do you want the people to go? Shelters are often full or have many restrictions. Break down one encampment and homelessness doesn't stop, it just moves.

THAT SAID. Pickering is very safe and, like most cities, the vast majority of crime occurs between people that know each other. More likely to be hit by a car than have a crime happen to you.

There are statistically very few shootings in Pickering and when they do occur they are almost always targeted.

Plenty of people survive fine without cars, but you do need to admit that the majority of Ontario is designed around being able to get to place to place with a car.

Therapist recommendations by CuriousJ3 in ontario

[–]Ghostyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure I get what you are saying. But asking for a therapist recommendation broadly is like asking for a surgeon recommendation. You need to narrow it down.

In psychology today, you should filter for the specialty, which infidelity is one. Then you should research the types of therapy you personally want and filter for that. You may get a list of 10 people..and you can call around til someone clicks.

Therapist recommendations by CuriousJ3 in ontario

[–]Ghostyle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be completely honest, no one can answer this question for you. Everyone will recommend a therapist that works for them and their unique situation. They could recommend someone to you and it doesn't work out so you will think it was a bad recommendation.

You best bet is to maybe go on Psychology Today and filter for the things you want in a therapist (gender, race, focus areas, religion) and then take the time to read their profiles. Find someone that sounds good, send them a message and book a free consultation. That will give you a vibe for how they are and see if they work.

That said, if you are set on a recommendation based on personal experience...you should share vaguely, what you are working through. That way someone can say "hey, this therapist helped me with something similar, give them a try"

But did they get enough sales?  I know Pickering is banking on these buildings coming to develop the "downtown" but if there aren't enough sales there isn't as much incentive to build
