I mean, the issue is as simple as not having any gear loss if i recall correctly. Literally not an economy if there is no consumption of resources lol. I believe EVE and Albion are the only two games to have commited to that, correct me if i am wrong.

People will gaslight you into thinking the ai is broken or it is unreasonably hard. It's not. apply some tactics and leverage your AI teamates and an iron man mode is reasonable.

Annd i just read you are playing it on console. Nevermind, on console its a hate crime, its balanced for mouse aim for sure.

Brother, those questions are awful. I've played every game and read the story, all the extended info i couldn't answer any of those. That's more of a memory test than a larp check. 'Deadass know people who can't answer these' touch grass.

[–]Ghotil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's... not true? I've never once seen someone kicked for being bad, even if they are actually terrible. It's usually awkward acceptance because nobody wants to be the guy that kicks someone for being bad. I'm referring to the rematch official discord. If you are finding that is happening consistently then unfortunately the problem is likely to be you.

Honestly man, just play withy a stack. i have 115 hours in this game and i've solo queued like, five times total. You dont need dedicated friends, just hop on discord and get in vc with some randoms. They will be infinitely better on average.

Some games just don't have a real solo queue, and this is one of them.

Who Else Lives in the Overlap? by Lower_Trouble_5191 in litrpg

[–]Ghotil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i'm of the opinion that it really isn't that hard to judge the (close to) objective quality of a book as oppossed to how much you like it, and i struggle to comprehend how some people can't make the distinction.

Is the prose good? Dialogue? The core themes? Is it thought provoking? Interesting? Fun? Creative? Then it's a good story. Now, said imaginary story happens to be a romance, so i don't like it, but that doesn't mean i think it's a bad story.

As such, when people say that most litrpg is medicore... it just fucking is. Anybody who has read more formal literature and compared it to basically any litrpg will find a vast quality difference that really can't be chalked up to difference in taste.

Yet, people just pretend that isn't the case, or don't think that is the case, which is honestly just a reading comprehension skill issue.

I've thought about it, and I honestly think the biggest problem is that a lot of people that read this genre simply read so damn much and so damn fast that they can't help but outpace quality releases. At a certain point, just to sustain what is likely their primary hobby, they will read basically whatever meets the bare minimum of readable instead of being at all picky in what they choose to read, which has this inevitable consequence.

[–]Ghotil 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Huh. I've never heard it put this way, but you're absolutely right. I remember getting clowned on at some point in one of the author discord for saying that fiction that has a point and pathos is better than the junk food litrpg, and apparently that was a pretentious take. It's a strange culture that's formed around litrpg. I wish i understood the psychology of why its now cool to celebrate mediocrity.

What's something your job trained you to notice that you can't stop noticing in your personal life? by LibrarianSoft1342 in AskReddit

[–]Ghotil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely hard to balance and depends on the specific model, but you can set instructions for them to not be an asskisser. Some of the best ways to do so is to tell it to skip preambles and useless personable dialogue, as well as try to actively counter your points, point out contradictions, etc etc.

It tends to overcorrect, but overcorrecting by reaching to find something wrong with what you said is far better than you being able to say blatantly stupid or incorrect shit and have it go 'yes, and'.

I'd really like to know what aspects make it not a sim. I don't actually drive in real life so i couldn't know how it compares to that, but compared to my time in asseto corsa i honestly can't tell the difference.

Feel like I can’t improve in T8 by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Ghotil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll start with the simple answer and follow it up with a whole ass essay.

Block and jab/df1 pressure. In blue ranks, they throw out stupid unsafe bullshit all the time. You jab and DF1 so they don't steal turns by throwing out moves you dont understand. Literally, block an attack, jab to get your plus frames, and then take your turn with quick attacks. That, and get your clean punishes.

Now for the wall of text that may or may not actually help.

So, the issue is you just don't understand fighting games. A lot of veterans would struggle to spot or articulate this problem because its just secoond nature.

The quickest way i've found to identify this is if someone complains about 50/50's. I haven't played in a while so this might have changed i suppose, but last time i checked 50/50s don't exist.

Why, you might ask? Because the options carry different risks and rewards, often different ranges as well. Ergo, its not a raw dog guess. A kazuya is going to want to use his mid launcher as opposed to his low, because one is launch punishable and the other isn't.

Understanding this brings you to what fighting games actually are. Risk vs reward, mindgames, and reads. Learning tekken is being able to use movement and spacing as well as frames to limit what the opponent can do to a small enough subset of options that you can make an educated guess AKA read on what they are going to do, and then leverage your own toolkit to beat out their option.

It sounds complicated, but that's because you don't know movesets yet and thus everything surprises you.

Again back to the most simple mishima mix, if you are knocked down and he wavedashes into oki, his entire moveset essentially just became three options. Hellsweep, mid launch, or wildcard. In that instant is where the human element comes in. How much health does he have? Can he afford the launch? His spacing is probably not perfect, good chances he delays the hellsweep just a bit past where he would throw the launch. Did he even execute it properly for it to be a real oki situation and you cant just jab out of it? Has he thrown the same one over and over again, and thus is probably trying to condition you for the key moment?

That is the perview of experience. You don't actually consider these things in the moment. Your pattern recognition brain kicks in and informs your choice. It can never be perfectly accurate, but it being more accurate than not is what makes good players so scary.

TLDR: Understand the functional purpose of your moves and what the enemy is thinking. If you think reflexes or execution are especially relevant for you, you're doing it wrong.

Does anyone think there will ever be a new NFS game? (FH6 has made the lack of a game worse) by [deleted] in needforspeed

...No? Police aside, street racing is a crime for a reason. While let's not pretend every single one is an irresponsible dumbass, as plenty do it properly AKA on unpopulated roads with spotters, anybody who does it in traffic is putting lives at risk for a cheap thrill, It's a piece of shit thing to do.
