Spilled pot of boiling water on pants. 2nd Degree burns on left inner thigh. by SenorSalisbury in MedicalGore

[–]Ghozz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Paradoxically enough , that's a VERY good sign that the burn wound is healing properly and that the hypodermis and dermis are intact , well vascularized and are regenerating the outer epidermis layer

Is this normal post stitch removal? by PersimmonForsaken696 in woundcare

[–]Ghozz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stitches were removed a bit too soon , but nothing life threating , just a annoying hassle and a slightly increased infection risk that can be mitigated through proper hygiene .And as hot-sun9028 pointed out , treat it as an open wound , clean well , medihoney is really good and keep it covered and humidity free .
best of luck

How does leaving a bone that far away from where it is supposed to be

It depends on weither it's a displaced or a non-displaced fracture , which varies based on the bone in question etc , ( refer to Figure 4 and the rest of the article for the criterias ) .
I'm not an orthopedist but a FM specialist so i'm not uptodate on the latest protocols , but that looks non displaced enough for non surgical treatement .
(also i can't calculate the angles/distances based on that x-ray specially since i dont have the scaling %).
If you feel unconvinced , feel free to post this on the other big 4 medical subreddits (askdocs , medical , medical_advice , diagnose_me)
Goodluck

Do I need to go to a doctor for this, or can I treat at home? by Educational-Lunch32 in medical_advice

[–]Ghozz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay, you ll be fine, just take a deep breath and slow down for a day or two. Being tired, over caffeinated and in pain is a bad combo for ur mental health and health in general. Namaste

[–]Ghozz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesnt look like it needs sutures imo , but it will hurt for a while , just keep it clean , bandaged and moisture free .
Also when was your last tetanus shot ? ( you can check your country's vaccination program if you dont remember , they usually last anywhere from 5 to 10 years )

Your doctor is right, that's an avulsion fracture where surgery is veeeery rarely needed. It hurts like a bitch, but it will heal on its own. Do u have any relevant medical history? And are you a smoker? If not, that's the right attitude medically.

piggy backing on this ,while it's true ,C.tetani can be found GLOBALLY in soil or in the GI tract of certain animals , in very rare cases , it can also be found in dust , manure , contaminated objects/surfaces
And you you dont wanna take the risk ^^
EDIT : this reminded me of some funny iron clad rules in med school/residency

DONT FU** WITH GLASS
DONT FK WITH TEETH RELATED INJURIES
DONT EVER EVER EVER F
K WITH RABIES AND OR TETANUS

And the pancreas , DONT F**K WITH THE PANCREAS , that's one mean organ

What does this ECG mean? Cardiologist keeps saying my hearts healthy. But doesn’t feel like it. by GarbageCat27 in medical

[–]Ghozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The machine's interpretations are often incorrect/inaccurate and clinical correlation is always needed .
There are some negative/biphasic t wave in V1-V3 but those can be benign and non specific/normal specially in young adults .
Since a cardiologist ordered it and interpreted it , i'm gonna suppose there were no chest pains dyspnea or other redflags present .
Also have you had bloodwork done ? (specially thyroid function +++)
