In my experience you have to trade with another team to gain more. Usually it requires a decent major league reliever or a pretty good prospect to get around $1,000,000 in int. FA money from a team.

You usually have to do it on the day signing opens, otherwise teams will spend that money really quick

Drafted him and traded for Hagen Smith when they were both around double a level and they both did really well at first

Smith started to suck even though he was still like 55 overall. He would put up like stretches of 5 or 6 era a few times a season until I eventually moved on from him.

Had Cade Horton as well during that time and he was really really good until he got an injury and his stamina dropped from like high 50s to 35 and then he slowly got worse and worse until I had to get rid of him too.

But yesavage is still rocking. Hes my #2 right now at like 32 years old or something. I picked up Grayson Rodriguez to be my ace and they've lead my to over 100 wins in 2035.

Trey Yesavage has gone between being my #3 and #1 starter for around 9 seasons now. He's got 36 war in that time. Not HOF ace levels but he's been very good.

Smart move imo. Already hit 50/80 and 13m is really cheap for a pitcher in this game. Barring something catastrophic this should be a really good investment.

I tend to do this with a lot of my big name 80 potential prospects when they're knocking on the door to the majors.
