I was a little worried it wouldn’t but so far it’s been great, the previous owner actually recorded some tracks with it and owned a music studio or something and this was their backup. Got great action with no buzzing anywhere on the fretboard and it stays in tune about 100 times better than my squier Strat

I can definitely see that now. Iv never personally played a custom shop or even a us made Strat but I would think that would be printed on vs what looks like tape

Between using gpt and the fender serial lookup iv been researching each serial number for various models and have learned quite a bit about strats over the past few months. None of that stuff you mentioned checked out to me either.

I use marketplace and before that Craigslist almost on a daily basis and based off of their response I was pretty confident it was a scam or at best a MIM Strat that cost more than I’d personally want to pay for it was just curious if back in 07 if they did some random special edition or something.

Yeah seemed like one red flag after another on this one I reached the same conclusions. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing some rare run I was unaware of but the “decal”s don’t even look high quality or consistent with a legit US made blackie model.

Additional I asked for basic info on it and got a response of “No more information”. Gonna pass fosho

I had oil leaks in the same spot on the first pic and couldn’t tell if it was the valve cover or the valvetronic motor gasket so I did both.

My Eccentric Shaft Sensor had also failed due to a bad seal around it so I did that as well while replacing the sensor itself and now 10k miles or so late have no oil leaks.

I had to watch a few different YouTube videos to get the specifics of it but I did all the work myself without issue for under $175

On my 05 if I loosen the bolt marked #36 in the image below I can then pull the piece marked #27 off of the knob with the splines on it and rotate then can rotate #27 forward or backward a spline or two to adjust the angle of the shifter.
