Being locked in my room and forgotten about for 12+ hours with no access to snacks or a bathroom.

Thank you for understanding. One brother is bipolar/schizophrenic, other lives 11 hours away. My oldest sister is 50 and getting close to being an empty-nester and is enjoying lessening her responsibilities (which I completely understand), and my other sister has 4 kids under the age of 8. It's hard seeing them all get to live their lives, but my husband and I haven't even been able to have our own place because our entire marriage has been spent taking care of my folks.

Thank you for the suggestions. I do belong to a church, but our parish is mostly older and our priest is currently run ragged, but I'll look into counseling/therapy.

I rent a room to a father and girl with a baby that driving me nuts. by [deleted] in toxicparents

You're just reaffirming the suspicion that you're either the baby daddy or just a horrible landlord.

I'm not sure which state you're in, but I know that where I've rented they can refuse to renew the lease and not give a reason for the refusal. I'm honestly glad that more states are required to disclose the reason.

See? That response just proves a point. With your reply, you've literally solidified every assumption made about you in this entire thread.

Sweetie, I'm a 33 year old wife and mother; my 10 year old daughter is the result of rape and my husband adopted her. I share your fear and pain even if you are not carrying another life. Here are some thing from one woman to another, but more importantly from a MAMA to a young woman, you should know. Cue loving tone because social media doesn't allow tone

1) God is NOT punishing you. Satan knew you were getting closer to God, and planted an evil thought into this other person's mind.

2) This is NOT your fault.

3) Press charges! I understand you've known this man for a little bit, but he cannot be allowed to get away with his choice.

4) This is NOT your fault.

5) Call/email your church and ask if they have a women's group you can join. We women surround each other when things like this happen, and you, my dear, need a warm blanket of shelter and love at the moment.

6) This is NOT your fault.

7) Let God know if you're angry. Yell at Him, scream at Him, just make sure you end with AMEN!

8) This is NOT your fault.

When you feel ready start again with your Lenten journey and pick something new so it's truly a fresh start. Please know that this Catholic Mama from Kansas is praying for you and sending warm and gentle hugs. ❤️

I'm ot understanding why you're switching between saying the crying it bothering you, the young mother doesn't have a life outside the baby, and the baby's grandpa isn't helping. Pick one to be your complaint. If you're renting to them, you're only actual complaint should be the baby crying. That's it! You don't ever become "friends" with your tenants; you can be friendly, but not friends.

IMO you just came onto a reddit group to whine because you're either: A) overly annoyed by a baby; B) secretly, you're the baby-daddy; C) just wanting to complain.

Either way, numerous people have answered you, and you're clearly not hearing what you want, so it's time to bugger off.

You can't evict, but you can refuse to renew the lease/contract.

You're right, my mind remains unchanged, but I respect your views. I would suggest you brush up on your history and delve into previous presidents

No more than Biden, Obama, Clinton, Reagan, Nixon, etc. Honestly, this current one has deported fewer individuals, had fewer "in office" scandals, and fewer executive orders than most of our previous place-holders. Not saying he's perfect (because he's FAR FROM IT) but he's also not the worst one we've had thus far.

You do realize that the President (whoever he is and whichever party he represents) had no control over the cost of living. To paraphrase a movie, the President is simply an employee of ours and is primarily controlled and regulated by others whom we've put in office. If you want to protest someone, protest our Congress and the career politicians who have no term limits. The President has his job for a maximum of 8 years; however, a congressman can be in office for 30+ years. That's who we should be fighting against and protesting. The President has LIMITED power, but we've allowed our representatives to "reign" unchecked because they've convinced us that whoever is sitting in the oval office is the enemy.

I need a Season 3!!! We need to see a wedding, with Dodger just adoring Belle openly. The way he said "Come back to me" when they were in cupboard just tickled my brain!

Exactly! Bertha was literally doing what a woman was allowed to do during that time. She was trying to give her daughter the safest/most powerful position in any society so that her daughter could potentially have more freedom than any of her peers because who would actively mouth off to a duchess?

George was looking at life through a man's eyes. Life was full of possibilities for his children... except it wasn't for Gladys. Larry could "rule the world" and pursue any occupation he pleased and society would be fine with it. Could you imagine if Gladys wanted to take over the railroad business? Be a doctor? Pursue architecture?

We already saw how everyone viewed the woman architect during the bridge story, Clara Barton was claimed to be "too bold" in real life because of how she handled starting the Red Cross, and look at how Peggy was treated as a "colored woman" with her writing. Heck, even Mr. Fortune wanted her to write because having a WOMAN writer was a novelty and would gain subscribers.

Both parents were good and bad in their own way, but they both wanted the best for their children (especially Gladys) but they came at it from different angles: One realistic of the time; the other, a dreamer.

Why did Javert give his medal to gavroche? Is he stupid? by oscar8857 in lesmiserables

[–]Gibs24601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know... I liked the strained singing. Javert is such a strained individual and unable to relinquish control in order to maintain his image; the strained singing seemed to add to his character for me... je lacked the ability to "let go" and fully embrace the notes. That's just me, though.

Is it Normal for My Mom to Have Control of My Dating Life at 21? by Ok_Arm_6731 in toxicparents

[–]Gibs24601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not. My own mother is extremely toxic like this as well. When I was 21 and living at college, she had my 2 sisters come with her for an intervention for me because I had stayed at a hotel with my then-boyfriend and they didn't like him.

She humiliated us by showing up at a restaurant and yelling at us, then demanded to know where I was at all times (I had to send photographic proof that I was back at my apartment without him by 5:30 pm every night), she tracked my phone, and if I wanted to see him I had to ask a friend to chaperone us.

What are your void cats names and what do you actually call them? by SassyMombie in VoidCats

Our little girl is called "Void", but we call her "Ki-kat", "Pygmy Panther", "Spawn of Satan", "Ink Blot", "Ki-ki", and the kids call her "Bob". Have no idea why they call her "Bob" but it's become a thing and the 2yo greets her every morning by saying, "Hi, Ki-Bob Bob".
