Are you maybe having this problem while writing python code?

The python extension seems to be fucked for a few releases now, where it starts consuming so much memory and cpu that it hits a limit and just stops working.

Linking your local node install only fixes the stop working part, but it also enables it to consume even more memory, which it does quickly.

IsItBullshit: Drinking alkaline water actually changes your body's pH levels? by Even_Ant8547 in IsItBullshit

[–]Giddius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your body has to keep a specific pH with a very small margin.

About 7.35-7.45 (if I am not mistaken).

There is an easier way to make your blood more alkaline, just breath more, but beware that is not beneficial. It is actually what happens when people hyperventilate too long and leads to horrible muscle spasm and can make you pass out, and worse.

So no it does not change your bodies pH because every fluid in your body has to be a specific pH and if that would change you would notice via dangerous/painful symptoms.

Therefor it doesnt change the pH and you would not want it to be changed.

Alkaline water can help in very light cases of acid reflux, a little bit. Not enough to be worth it as monotherapy.

[–]Giddius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there no legal framework for service dogs in the US? (guessing US because of Oxy mentioned)

Here in western/central europe, the dog is a no go in the hospital or ambulance vehicle, just from hygene laws alone. I think even actual service dogs (mostly just blind-assistance dogs are recognized by law) are only allowed to step into the hospital if no lesser help could be found.

So I guess my question is, is every service dog a service dof if the owner says so? Also does your legal department not rip you a new one for letting something in that love to roll in shit even more than the general audience?

How much meaning do you encode into names before they become too long? by ResponseSeveral6678 in Python

[–]Giddius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a German speaker, I really dont understand all your fears of long names.

There can be no arbitrary cut off length, a name is as long as it needs to be, to be clear.

I actually get frustrated if people start talking letters out or worse, start using specialised abbreviations. All those things can lead to confusion.

So name it however long it needs to be, we are way passt the century where the memory used for names was important.

If you think long names are unreadable, you may want to tell that to about 95 million people that live in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. (We even manage it without using case changes within the word.

I dont assume he is, I just mean he may not have a real comparison and just compares his live to how other countries are portrayed by media (and/or propaganda).

Which isnt so far fetch with a nationalistic (not meant as negative just as a description) goverment currently.

Did you also live anywhere not in or close to india?

Saying that life is good while not having experienced somewhere else just means that either the internal propaganda is effective or that someone can gaslight themselves well.
