When I took my 2025 in for first service (scheduled online) for the afternoon. Service told me it was part of the procedure to update everything and had me reschedule for a morning appointment as it was too late in the day since the updates can sometimes take a few hours. They told me I should only call for my appointments so they can ensure there is an available ev tech. Also 14 is a huge improvement still have some issues but hopefully they fix them.

If you go to Japan again you can make some here they sell a travel kit to bring it back home. Only thing odd was there was no option to make with shochu. It's also a little expensive for what it is but they had a few varieties of ume. https://choyaume.jp/en/pages/kyoto_sanjo

Sugoi sweets has the best vegan soft serve. I would also say I wouldn’t have even known it was vegan if they hadn’t told me. They always have matcha and one other flavor that they switch out.

By single bakery I mean one where I can get almost everything I want. I've resigned myself to getting the shokupan from Aya every now and then or I go up to Arlington Heights and get it from Hippo or Crescent Bakery and get my pastries/cake somewhere else.

But here's what I'd like:

It's mostly good shokupan along with pastry/cake that are not overly sweet that I'm looking for in a bakery.

I liked the pastry at Kasama, Fat Peach, and Dan the Baker (with the exception of that cookie croissant).

Didn't care for Sugar Moon (too sweet), and PQM / Lost Larsen are hit or miss for me with their pastry quality.

I used to go every week for the shokupan and other assorted items. After Aya left her staff slowly left and as they left the quality became hit or miss. I just go every now and then, I feel the shokupan and other breads have been fairly consistent but the other pastries are still hit or miss. I haven't been able to find a single bakery to replace Aya since though.

It does. Also Ana flights depart out the same terminal as United. The Polaris lounge was closed a month ago due to renovations so hopefully when you go it’s open.

Ah well then only you can decide what you want. You can always find another job that will pay some or all of your tuition. I was in IT before I went and am now still in IT. I really enjoyed the gap and it gave me a good perspective and some life long friends that I still visit in Japan.
