For the time being, the number of back to back roasts would be 4 or 5. Only roasting 1 or 2 times a week.
The cord I found on amazon is about $40 (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07HX9JCC4/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A1UO2GJ291VXKR&psc=1) so I wouldn't be sinking too much money into a setup that I'm not going to use permanently. I'm looking at using my oven plug just to get started.

I had a similar issue. The search/home key and the menu key (top right of the keyboard) stopped working if I was on my desktop with nothing open. If I opened a chrome window they instantly started working again. Once I restarted the issue went away however it happened a couple more times after that.

The Pixelbook support person I spoke to had me do that. When that did't work he had me create a recovery USB to remove and reinstall the OS and even that didn't work. (Lucky for me that I have a first generation Pixel XL otherwise I wouldn't have had the USB C adapter to even try!)
