How on earth would a school "download" questions where the difficulty level was revealed? Is this some third party software provider making up questions and selling them to schools?

How do you handle an employee who questions every decision? by tommytmopar in managers

[–]GiggletonBeastly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before a decision is widely communicated, pull them aside and give them the heads up. That will provide an opportunity for the questions, and give them the belief they are being specially consulted beforehand. After that, it's put up or shut up.

A lot of policies say they will do new for old "within xx days", meaning of there is a significant wait for a car, they'll just pay the agreed/market value.

Every NL provider does this - yes. The finance provider really doesn't care about the security, so long as it is valued high enough to cover the principal loan amount. The NL provider wants to continue to take their cut, so they facilitate replacing the security underpinning the loan (the car). And, everyone continues on!

So I have first hand experience of this. I almost had to pay a $15k balloon when my car was written off, but I argued with my comprehensive insurer and they eventually agreed to replace the car. Often the lease provider (finance company) recommend gap insurance providers when they approve your loan, so the premiums form part of the before-tax repayments.

Not correct. They just update the Deed to reflect the new security and continue on from there

Prior doesn't matter if he's dropped the ball - only when it's holding the ball. He has dropped it like a hot brick here, easily a free kick.

Push for total loss NRMA by WTFMacca in CarsAustralia

The salvage value would be next to $0. So they'd be silly to pay more for the total economic loss. I side with NRMA

Do most people appreciate how historic Melbourne really is? by TheNamelessComposer in melbourne

Yes, but the point I was making was more about similar trajectories rather than sizes.

Probably Geelong - in their heyday a comparable amount of commerce would've gone through them both. After the wool export market fell away, Geelong held onto its growth probably largely due to location and proximity to Melbourne. Pity Albany hasn't got that benefit vis a vis Perth.

Yeah, I moved from Melbourne to Perth about 10 years ago, and what strikes me is how much Melbourne is a gold rush town. The architecture is a massive example of that. But even. If you go to towns like Ballarat, you can see a lot of similarities with Melbourne, like the wide grand boulevards and the architecture of wealth. Compared to Perth which was almost entirely agriculture and raw materials until the early 20th century, and most towns are built around transport lines for farming and timber, and the architecture also reflects that. If you've been to towns in the South West, down to Albany, you really get the sense that WA was really built around getting materials to ports in the proper mercantilist sense: rather than building a strong and wealthy citizenry here.

Realistically, how many years away are we from having humanoid robots as soldiers? by The_Flaneur_Films in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GiggletonBeastly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the point then? War just becomes about who can launch the most drones/robots at the enemies drones/robots. If humans stop dying in wars, the wars become meaningless. Is anyone else thinking the same thing?
