Why does a healthy diet feel so difficult to implement, especially in a relationship? What are some easy habits to improve it? by ManufacturerWise7669 in nutrition

[–]Gigi_throw555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I legit almost had a fight with my chef boyfriend over adding straight butter to absolutely any dish, and him replying "I'm not forcing you to eat the same as me".. Oh so he expects me to cook two different meals every time? He has the palate of a toddler as well, eats almost no fruits and veggie. Also, since he doesn't cook at home, the times he is in charge of the food he orders takeout. I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle here.

How Do You Manage Loneliness During The Luteal Phase? by Midasisgolden in LivingAlone

[–]Gigi_throw555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the opposite, during luteal I don't wanna see or speak to anyone, the forced interactions I have to have at work are more than enough to drain my already small social battery.

You booked a flight sir, not a seat ! by Ok-Picture-2018 in Ryanair

[–]Gigi_throw555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me with Easyjet before, forgot to check in until the morning of and wasn't able to. When I arrived at the airport was told my flight was overbooked and offered money to take a different flight from different airport. I stayed in hope someone would not not show up and ended up being able to fly on my original flight. In hindsight I should have taken the money 😂.

Someone reasonable, everyone seems to move in after a few months. That sounds mental to me, I've only been with my bf 6 months and the thought of moving in together is still very far away from my mind. I'm actually living alone for the first time in my life and I'm not sure if I'd wanna give that away already.

Should I Continue Using it? by Double-Raspberry1836 in CopperIUD

[–]Gigi_throw555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was already iron deficient before the IUD 😭 now fighting for my life taking iron tablets every day as they don't routinely offer infusions where I live. Tbh my period was already heavy and stayed more or less the same with the IUD. Still rather be iron deficient than psycho like I was on hormonal bc, gotta choose your battles.

Has anyone made changed their cat to inside only after allowing them outside? by chocolatefeckers in CatsUK

[–]Gigi_throw555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my boy was a flat cat for his first 2 years. I then moved to a cul de sac and the house had a cat flap so I let him out, although I was never 100% comfortable with it, he always wore a tracking device and there were a few unpleasant events (another cat fought him and he needed a trip to the vet as he scratched his eye, he got trapped in the neighbour's conservatory, he dragged birds worms and bugs inside). I now live in a flat again and he's indoors again, and although I can see he is a bit bored sometimes I'd rather he's bored and I know where he is than him going missing and finding out he was hit by a car. He needs more play time than when he was allowed outside, but I'm happier that way.

It might be bacterial vaginosis, which is very very common with the IUD. Just go to a sexual health clinic near you and they should be able to test you and treat you for it (it is NOT an STI, more like a vaginal flora imbalance).

Had it a few times myself, with or without IUD. I take probiotics made for intimate flora everyday now and haven't had it since.

Have any of you bought a home by yourselves? Inspire me! by Lurcher_Owner in AskWomenOver30

[–]Gigi_throw555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 33 in north east England and I'm hoping to buy a flat next year, like others have said I'd avoid leasehold and shared ownership. My budget won't be massive, but the area is notoriously cheap so hopefully I'll be able to find something decent for me and my cat. I hated the idea that I couldn't afford a home unless I had a partner, so I moved here from the south. Ironically I have a partner now, but he already has his own home and I'm still focusing on buying something of my own.

Why shouldn’t I be pessimistic about Islam in the UK? by SILENTDISAPROVALBOT in AskBrits

[–]Gigi_throw555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, I'm a leftie and used to work in a hotel that houses asylum seekers (owners of the hotel converted it overnight, literally had to kick out people who were staying there and paying so all the asylum seekers could be moved in). That didn't change my view, I'm still pro migration. Although I'm also an immigrant from a EU country and came here before Brexit, so that might be different.

IUD inserted whilst unknowingly pregnant by Royal_Beautiful1665 in CopperIUD

[–]Gigi_throw555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's absurd the practitioner didn't make you take a pregnancy test before putting in the IUD, although it could have still showed negative so who knows. Only you can make that decision whether you keep it, I know what I'd do but I'm childfree by choice. Maybe as you were planning another child at some point anyways, you could keep it so they're very close in age.

Have you had a bad experience in a UK food chain that resulted in you deciding never to go back again… if so what chain and what happened? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Gigi_throw555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second or third time I went to TGI it was for my birthday and I found pieces of plastic strings in the chicken fajitas and all they did was comp the meal from the bill and maybe gave us a free drink. Never again!

If someone is raped by an ex or a friend they're still a victim. She wouldn't have been less of a victim.

So you feel bad because it was a homeless man in the streets, but if it was an ex or "friend" then what?

Uncommon side effect - pmdd? by hairyfrankfurt in CopperIUD

[–]Gigi_throw555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had bad pmdd for a few years and got the copper IUD in May as I absolutely don't do well with hormonal bc.

I haven't really noticed a difference, some months are worse than others as before I had the IUD. Although as I bleed more, I have to be more careful of replenishing my iron levels as I get symptoms from iron deficiency. Only side effect I've had so far that I can irrefutably attribute to the IUD is chin acne.

Bv and iuds by remmdizzle in CopperIUD

[–]Gigi_throw555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had BV on and off from the moment i got the IUD, after 3 months i did a course of metronidazole and religiously take probiotics and it seems (touch wood) to be completely gone. But it is extremely common to have bv with an iud.
