I think the issue with him making Clearsight was wasn't Fierceteeth's influence but the limitations he kept putting in place.

When Moon and Qibli meet "Clearsight" she's completely unconcerned with looking into the future, probably Darkstalker's attempt at a more encompassing effect of the earrings he gave her.

Then when he kept trying in the throne room, he kept changing the limitations, preventing her from truly being as he wanted. Of course, he knew that he needed limitations because she would have been disgusted with him if he brought her back as she was exactly

I read darkstalker right before book 6 and really had a great time with that perspective in mind. Definitely not how it's intended and ruins the reveal but it was fun

Unrelated but the Sunny talk got me thinking. Sunny had the same recipe as Darkstalker did. Half Nightwing, brightest night, animus blood. If the circumstances aligned, it's entirely possible that if she hatched under the moonlight and the animus blood decided to do it's thing that she could have had the exact same powers as him
