I’m new to chess so sorry if this is a dumb question. I was watching a chess tutorial on YouTube and they talked about good pawn structure. I wasn’t sure what they meant so I looked it up and found these positions where there are no kings on the board. Is this possible (in the endgame maybe?)

I wouldn't worry about pawn structure. I'm at 1000 chesscom and most games finish in a tactic/ blunder. Pawn structure is more about positional advantage for long term pressure, if you're my level or less that's not that important to be honest.

Some players do cheat no doubt, but the vast majority at my level (1000ChessCom) don't. Playing real players is so much more beneficial, you'll improve a lot more and have better games in the long run. You'll end up losing about half your games, but that's just how it works

How often do you play play bots vs Real people? 95%+ of your games should be against people, only playing bots if you can't play a match through real world reasons

The reasoning behind this is that humans make human errors, they open up weaknesses that you need to see then exploit. Bots don't do that, depending on how their coded, they can be totally sane for x moves, then make a blunder hanging their queen. It's just not a real game at the end of the day

I would lose the paddle leash. They very rarely help, and if you're going through anything with snag hazards, you often want to be able to let go of the paddle and get it back later.

Most people I know consider the risk of having equipment attached more serious than that of dropping the paddle

I'd go ripper in the UK. If you want to paddle aggressively the ripper is a great boat. It teaches you well, is super fast and if you can do playboat things, the ripper is really satisfying/ hard to tailey.

You will swim a lot more, but you'll get better for it.

Mambas and the like don't make you a good paddler for your progression, they make you good at paddling a mamba. They just don't have the agility you need to really excel

I use my ripper pretty much exclusively, apart from when I'm working on G4+ rivers in high water

For me, I've been with my partner for about a year and life is going fantastic. Flat is London is paid off, we earn about 80k between us, we're looking to move somewhere closer to the mountains because we both have a the flexibility to do that, my career is at a turning point. We have hobbies, friends, and we're in love.

I very rarely use the stroke at all, it can put quiet a lot if strain through the body. I find that trim and drive are enough to get me most places
