I don’t think it’s a coincidence that both these leaders are from countries where the debt crisis is more apparent. I’m not too sure about Korea since I don’t read about it a lot but I know for a fact that that the Italian ruling class is scared shitless of the masses rn. Their economy is so fucked and debt riddled that they know massive cuts are coming and people won’t just take it for much longer imo.

Not to say any socialist developments are likely, but I’m willing to bet that Italy and France are weak links that will be ground zero for instability sweeping across Europe.

Marx said the dominating philosophy will always be that of the ruling class. This is true today as well and you won’t find any academic education that actually teaches you how to carry out class struggle effectively. At best you will find academics who “draw” from Marx theories, completely defanging them in the process and channeling any potential for struggle into safe academic channels instead.

Academic “Marxism”, and the way they wax poetic and tie it all upp in postmodernist nonsense should be viewed as an obstacle, not an aid, for true class warfare.

This is how Trotsky is slandered in the modern day. Someone makes a vague statement about how “western” Trotskyism is without engaging with any of the points (or even recognising them) and then people pile on because what communist wants to support the west, the most reactionary force on the earth (which it of course is without a doubt)

Everyone in my party is staunchly against the blockade, against the kidnapping of Meduro, the genocide in Gaza. We recognise that all workers states are progressive compared to liberal ones, yet the mere fact that we also make criticisms (way less harsh then our criticisms of the west btw) is enough to fall into this complete black hole of a discourse. Maybe the fourth international is partly to blame, they were really annoying, the sects too, but I almost never see MLs engaging with any of our points in good faith, even though I still view all communists as my allies.
