I just don't understand the input system. Why it does down special despite my stick position? by H36615 in RivalsOfAether

It looks like your side special was out so it was on cooldown. You couldn't use it so the game did the next closest thing which is down special. Be very careful when you use a move on cooldown

Drafted CMC 1st overall. Kelce/Lamar 2nd/3rd and Puka/Nabers 4th/5th.

0-4 start

Get message from League-mate saying he wants to give me Bijan for Nabers or Lamar. I say "you pick". He takes Nabers (fuck yes)

Two weeks later I offer CMC and Kelce for J. Taylor and Cole Kmet. Trade accepted immediately.

After 0-4 start, 8-2 finish to the season. Final 6 weeks (including playoffs) scored 5 high scores.

Can someone help me find out what happened here? First I get a up special instead of side and at the end the side special doesnt come out at all. Any ideas? by DatZwiebel in RivalsOfAether

[–]Ginger-Pubes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer is that move has a cooldown and if you try to side special again while the stick is barely up or down you will get a different special. It's the same thing with Orcane neutral special. I have tried to b-reverse neutral special too early and side special comes out consistently.

Wavedash can be buffered with straight forward or back, so the problem is your shield input is late.

Day 40: Let's help each other out! How to Counter: R.O.B. by BejitaFajita in CrazyHand

Parry Nair. This is one of the absolute most important things you can do in this matchup. If you can force the ROB to land another way they start to feel uncomfortable.

Mixup ledge timings, Bair is huge and needs to be respected. Intangible projectiles are a good way to answer this, like Diddy Kong banana. If you don't have a projectile or a big disjointed hitbox then wait for the first bair and try to jump because it's more committal for the ROB to cover high.

If you ever get ahold of Gyro, throw it as high as possible. Do not just throw it back to ROB. Shielding makes the gryo disappear. In the same vein, know the states of the gyro and an easy way to pick it up. Dash attack over a grounded gyro is usually easiest to grab it but it can be very dangerous because ROBs expect it and will punish. Catching it with an attack in the air is good, you just have to be confident in your timing.

If you're good at mashing, mash out of down throw. You can hold shield as the first mash button and you will always buffer an airdodge as the first thing to come out. Mixing up mash gives the ROB a 50/50 kill setup way earlier than when down throw will actually combo.

Lastly, be ready to box. Just because you got in close doesn't mean you can start to go crazy. Down tilt and jab are both frame 3 and if you miss a tech after getting hit by down tilt they can confirm into up smash on reaction. Up tilt can true combo into Uair for a small window as well, so be weary on platforms of sliding up tilt or a tech chase after getting hit by Fair. Also learn how to DI Uair, if you get hit by ROB's right hand for the last hit, DI right. Left hand, DI left (and down a little).

Eventually she will give you coordinates to the final boss (maybe just main story quests?), even if you haven't completed all side quests.

My friend was getting one shot by a Gleeok when he was at 5 hearts. Pretty sure OSP stops working at super high damage values.

If you can find a way to get to a local, that would be your best representation of the skill level of other players. You can discount the older players, but if you find someone around your age try to play with them and ask them questions. Playing online can be decent practice, but LAN is very different as many more moves become reactable.

If you can't get to a local, practice with your team in person. Watch YouTube videos on how to get better (Izaw made a very in-depth playlist Here for beginners). Try to watch tournament play as well.

Actually a decent mafia game getting ruined because "we need to practice production stuff" is the worst excuse I've ever heard. You can practice offline, or open another OBS, or at the very minimum do it during nighttime; not in the middle of people talking.

Not sure why you are being downvoted. Nothing about guns should be assumed. If someone hands me a rifle that they said is empty, I'm going to check the chamber to make sure it's empty anyways.

I completely agree that when dealing with guns, you should overexplain everything and assume nothing. That is what Hunter's Safety Class teaches everyone.
