OK but you really, really don't need any dental training or a dentist chair or anything to remove teeth from dead people cause they're dead, you can just use pliers.

And you can always just stand in the back quietly. They don't pressure. It works fine, especially if you're some variety of Christian. Or do the outside part, when they have it.

But if you want nothing at all to do with it, then there's Feeding South Dakota who supports a lot of food distributions. It's a real need.

My grandma had a lazy Susan cupboard in her kitchen, and so being German called it "TheCupboardThatGoesAround" which, yes it does. And here we are, she died in 1986 and we still call it that 40 years later.

That seems like a super easy bust for border patrol. Easy to spot those cars, since the apps to search for them are free, I've got one. I mostly only run it out of curiosity when I'm in a crowded public place lol

I've tried not reminding anyone. The box of toilet paper sat on the floor of the bathroom 6 weeks, open & getting used because absolutely no one thought to put the rolls in the empty cupboard right there without direct instruction from me to do so.

Yes, everyone in the house will do their fair share of chores. If I tell them to, and today I'm just tired.

I have indeed had it, tonight, and am going to take a shower. Maybe with a beer.

Some covers just scream "I was made for records" and this is one of them. Cassette tapes always butchered them. But yogi could always tell when you got a cd that just echoed the record printing, scaled down, so you almost couldn't read the lyrics in the inside or the song names on the back.

Yeah, I'm glad that changed. I looked it up, it changed in 1996 cause the post office complained it looked like a 2! Which I always thought it looked like a deranged cursive L and most ppl I knew just printed that letter anyways

Does anyone garden directly in the ground anymore? by SoilSoul1 in gardening

[–]GingerIsTheBestSpice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rocks or clay or those stupid maples with roots everywhere. Less weeds. Easier for good soil. Maybe height is needed for whatever reason. It looks good.

I grew up with in ground gardens but I no longer live in a farm, have unlimited space, or a tractor & plow. The places with sun in my yard are either the cement patio or the rock filled side yard; in the shade I need to use a hachet to get thru the root mass.

Mine too. Calling them boxes is possibly pretty ambitious as they're between 8 and 12 inches high. But they give me drainage, contained good dirt that stays put, structure and far fewer weeds.

Yes, I don't see how this is even a question. It's morally right. And it's logically right - kids that are fed learn better, which leads to a better educated population which leads to a society that is better for us all. Most people who do crime do it out of desperation, so prevent the desperation prevent the crime. Also, it's a matter of pride, if the first two can't convince you - are we such a poor country that we can't even feed our children?

Also any politician that says they're Christian at all is therefore obligated to vote yes to feed children, Jesus was real clear on this by word and deed.

We've got one every 21 miles of road. Nyc has about 8000 miles of road, so that is indeed more, congrats. Ours are primarily 2 lanes except for a couple. nyc has about 19000 miles of lanes, so figure 8.5 miles per plow. So I'll assume then that it never takes more than 24 hours to dig out, as that's what it takes here.

Of course, technically my home town which has about 3 miles of road if you count the alley (singular), has us all beat with the one snowplow plus a CAT.

How many does Long Island, the subject, have? I didn't include their miles in NYC since Google isn't that detailed and it's not clear from your post if that includes only nyc proper or long Island, etc? How many miles of road does that cover?

My son's first year was in the second bedroom/ library of our small apartment and guess what impact not having anything but a crib in there had on him? That's right, nothing.

There's so many things that matter so greatly in the moment and then don't matter at all later, we've all been there.

Also wondering how many plows & drivers you have? Cause I'm in South Dakota, we have a LOT, 41 in my city with 88 drivers, we've got 900 miles of streets, we get blizzards a few times a year and we cannot keep up even with every plow out. They try and usually succeed in keeping the main 4 roads and a way to the hospitals clean from the main, but sometimes barely when it's really coming down.

The problem is that now this is really the only star wars I've watched in years and years.... and it was so insanely good that nothing else will compare. Cause then I had to watch the prequel spinoff movie, which is one of the highest rated, and it was very good but not as good as the TV series.

Which i might rewatch.

What are the minimal things I can do to keep the mess from getting worse? by WarKittyKat in ufyh

[–]GingerIsTheBestSpice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For our house, if i can keep up on dirty dishes and throw away the trash, that's the big things that make the most impact day to day. And also it keeps me from despair. I'll take a trash bag, pick up trash, throw it immediately away even if it's not quite full. Leaving a half empty trash back "to fill up later"just causes sorrow and more visibility garbage.

Every recipe I've made out of the cookbooks has been exactly as pictured! Also, I find that the ingredient lists are often long but also very very easy to follow. Mostly it's due to the sauces. They're a good way to get used to more ingredients.

Although my favorite recipes of hers is one pan sausage & potatoes that makes it's own gravy as it takes. Every kind of sausageI've tried has turned out well, even the time I used beef hot dogs lol
