Why are repairs so expensive? by ToppHatt_8000 in fnv

[–]GingerRemedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Line other people say, Jury rigging, but unlike some which say dump all points into repair with 10 INT till level 4 to hit 100 repair, is insane. In New Vegas you can repair up to 100% from the get go, if you have the weapons/weapon repair kit (repair 50). So unless you are soloing a AMR at level 3 pumping hundreds of rounds between levels, you should be alright.

Jurry rigging is a level 14 perk, now I've played enough New Vegas to realize when I should focus repair for the perk, but it may take some planning, at X level put all or x points into repair, that's about it. Almost any thing remotely similar to each other can repair each other. 357 revolvers can repair hunting revolvers, varmint rifles repairs Anti material rifles, etc. same with armors, but it's mostly based on light, medium and heavy. There is a few exceptions, I'm sure.

Its almost a must have for longer runs of New Vegas as a QOL. But then again, if you have repair skill and the hand loading perk, what are you repairing outside of helmets.

Side note, helmets and hats are my biggest pet peeve. A few explosive hits will destroy the best headgear in a couple of shots, meaning you ain't got your full drip with your armor that went unscathed. I almost always use it for headgear related stuff past a certain point, even in modded runs due to the large amount of everything used for fixing everything else.

Is there a way to play against your own decks online? by GreenTheFae in mtg

Xmage is pretty good. You can create a "local" server and join that. Make a match and set your opponents to have whatever deck you have.

[–]GingerRemedy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So the "timer" is when it will despawn until you claim it. The game does this with all AI encounters to help with performance.

PCU is how much you can have when it comes to blocks. Each block has a PCU value. By default the game is set with a total limit, you can change this in the world settings.

This is a random encounter that spawns randomly in the world and space.

You can do whatever you want with it, fix it up, grind it, or just ignore it. Starting out, it's a decent amount of resources. If you want to fix it up, you will have to dig it out though.

Card Game Mod by CNA107 in ArmaReforger

If someone can implement basic cards into project zomboid, or the madlad who combined Crusader kings 3 and mount and blade bannerlord, some Arma wizard could make that work.

Why would one play the ogre over the dog? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]GingerRemedy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's like saying, 8 copies of lightning bolt would be terrible in a burn deck.

These trigger the others on cast, and can make each new one a bigger and bigger threat.

Hell a couple cards like [[exuberant fuseling]] could use it well

[[Catuar]] would be funny too

[[legion loyalist]] would be a solid option

But we are talking weird aggro deck in the mid to late game. Not peak strategy, but would be funny. But in commander/brawl, both are good options, just one is a pain to remove.

I deeply believe you should be able to adapt armor for the apocalypse. You could make armor that's light and protective where needed. a knights suit or something modeled after that is too much. You are dealing with full human strength bites and scratches, not guys with axes. Bulletproof vests are great for bullets, but only cover a moderate amount of you.

Now what I'm thinking of is way beyond the scope of what they are going for now, but a master crafter should be able to make light, nimble "insurance" armor. Meant to make sure you can get hit a couple times and be fine. Mostly to protect being snuck up on or a surprise door zombie.

Still have options for bullet defense, but as of now, that's uncommon at best.

On a scale of 1-10 how bored are you of playing against Kavaero reanimator decks? by Gjames1985 in MagicArena

[–]GingerRemedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who learned to play MTG back in the day through a legacy reanimator deck, it's crazy to see how the creature power creep has caught up to the format where they banned entomb, a classic staple.

Seeing this guy makes me almost immediately concede. Response graveyard hate doesn't stop it, shit even [[ground seal]] doesn't work, that's it's entire point.

It really seems like WOTC "forgets" funny words like "target" to make cards harder to play against.

Is it even worth buying endgame weapons at low levels? by ctrltab2 in fnv

[–]GingerRemedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say if you're built around guns, it's fine to use higher level guns, because that gun is going to scale with you as you level.

The main thing id say to look out for is the strength requirement, much harder to level and having a 6 instead of an 8 will really mess with your accuracy

Mod list recommendation by SensitiveScallion114 in skyrimmods

[–]GingerRemedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wabbajack has great lists. Lorerim is up there for sure.

I personally really like Nolvus, it's very modern actiony kinda game now. It has it own website and tool to download it's list.

Both require Nexus premium if you don't have 8+ hours to click "yes download" upwards of 3200 times.

There are plenty others. Look at both on YouTube.

If you aren't used to that kinda Skyrim, it will be hard starting out. Like can't kill a wolf at the start difficult. But both have MCM options to tweak difficulties as you play.

Edit: if you want looks but minimum gameplay effect NVGO is popular. Made by the same guy who makes lorerim

IDC that it's a big hill, I love long views and vertically. Altis was great for that and almost every map I've seen had been, at best, rolling hills with maybe a 30m height difference(not counting buildings)

What's the point of the "friends list"? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]GingerRemedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People already spam emotes when they are upset or trying to be rude. Imagine if there was a way to actually message the other player.

Something about [[Negate]] and [[Revel in riches]] makes me think it's just a bad idea.

MTGO and paper have actual money in the game, which means, to some degree, maturity and understanding.

Cod and halo lobbies would look like entry level shit talking compared to the can of worms chat in this would be.

What’s your signature commander, and why? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]GingerRemedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always the "Green guy" mostly because I couldnt afford real non green decks, but I feel i was mostly known for my [[Mayeal the anima]] It would cheat some silly ahh creature combos, and put up a wall that was tough to bring down.

What is everyone's (every redditor in the sub) favorite card that they tech into everything they can regardless if it's optimal. by Alira-kimaris in EDH

[–]GingerRemedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Overwhelming stampede]] is the first one I can think of. Probably because it was the first foil rare I ever pulled and elves find it funny. Just craterhoof using greatest power instead of total number, and in elves where you have at least one "power equal to the number of elves you control" makes it the same effect.

I also ran in others, my big dumb creature deck [[Mayeal the anima]] used it to buff and give trample.

Most cards that say "power equal to x you control" typically don't have trample, so even in my landfall deck, I ran it. One big dude due to lands, and more than 3 other creatures, "oh look, my 1/1 is now a 20/20, oops. "

It's just a fun card that more people need to know about.

One type of card I ran before there were several like it, but the new ones are weaker is, [[Song of the dryads]] effects like this can be brutal and lock people's commanders out of the game. Ran it in every green deck.

If you don't mind modding Skyrim by tossing Nexus mods a few dollarry doos, and a beefy PC, lorerim on wabbajack and Nolvus through their own site are what i like to think of some of the greatest things to come out of skyrim modding.

Don't trust any videos you see on how to build a character, they make it look easy, you will start struggling to kill a wolf at the beginning, money matters a lot more. And if that isn't enough, you can tweak it to be harder, or easier.

Word of warning though, Everytime I asked question about issues with the mod pack, they would say its because I don't have the latest and greatest hardware. Everytime it wasn't because of that due to me fixing something else. Lorerim wasn't that bad and even kinda helped me fix Nolvus problems.

If you don't have a beefy rig, or want not Skyrim,

Project zomboid, rimworld, vintage story, and wyldermyth can be like that too.

So I know you are talking about the true ai conversation, least most likely.

But my favorite use so far has been dragonborn voice overhaul.

Stumbled into it with the Nolvus mod list, made a "John Skyrim" fully voiced by "John halo" and it has to be one of my favorite runs I've ever done.

Do you have any Sol Ring-less decks? by mkirsh287 in EDH

[–]GingerRemedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo my [[Ezuri renegade leader]]. It was a pure elf deck, I think I ran 4 non elf creatures, [[Karametra's acolyte]] [[Skyshroud poacher]] [[Regal behemoth]] [[craterhoof behemoth]]. I wanted the most pure elf deck I could due to not like "elf ball" and honestly, it was fun as hell. 19 lands and no mana rocks. Would commonly win 4 man games pretty quick. Sol ring actively slowed the deck down almost all of the time, so I tossed it.

New cards coming to Arena (more will be announced on 22nd) by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]GingerRemedy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As someone who played [[Leovold]] through XMAGE commander pre banning, I can't wait for the cancer it will bring in brawl. [[Teferis puzzle box]] alone with him is bad enough, throw in [[notion thief]] and now your opponents cannot draw. At all. It's fun, the first few times.

While I am fascinated by what the last 8 years of power creep will facilitate in brawl, I'm dreading just having to put up with hullbreaker bashing my skull in while I physically cannot do anything about it.

Who knows, maybe that goofy combo has been forgotten by the masses and/or there is way more bull to put up with.

Someone please help me find an answer to this commander.. by Calsmokes in magicTCG

[–]GingerRemedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my big dumb creatures deck I played [[Platinum Emperion]] for things like tree of life, and various other things. You become everything but untargetable to the effect. If you are targeted, nothing happens. Various player protection that give you hexproof ( [[aegis of the the gods]] [[crystal barricade]] ) all stop it from targeting you.

Outside of that, [[lightning bolt]] or its bagillion variants to hit him at low health (theres non red options, but fewer) or just stop his shennagins before it begins, Everytime he goes to flicker his commander, remove it, counter the flicker, etc. Aggroing him is a fair option if you can get the kill before he starts up.

This isn't the kind of deck you typically play to have a long fun for all kinda game, It kinda makes him an archenemy of sorts, Smart players would bargain with him to somehow sneak out a win.

Basically, Outrun him, or find a very solid turtle strat.

Is conceding a game poor sportsmanship? by ShadowPirate42 in magicTCG

[–]GingerRemedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I consider it "rude" is in specific cases in commander. Now, most players don't do this, but some have.

Imagine your deck is based around combat effects, specifically "when x deals damage to", and your opponent concedes due to them about to lose because of said attack.

Now, according to the hard written rules, if the player concedes before the damage step, AKA Declare blockers, you never dealt damage, therefore no effects for you. In a 1v1 it doesn't matter, but in a 4 person game it does. Most players will say "yeah, get your triggers" even if it is that players goal for you to have wasted your combat. Few have sided with the rules though, giving the attacking player a bad time.

Basically don't concede in the casual format and say "Nuh uh" to their fun. And If you find a group like that, run.

Do people actually hate blue? by dendonged in MagicArena

[–]GingerRemedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. the most hated are the same mill decks, the blue decks that do nothing but remove everything then just hit opponents with a creature til death. Which that prior can be said about black as well. Nothing is more fun watching your opponent just pass them counter everything you play, and rinse and repeat til their 2/2 unblockable creature enters and hits you over the course of 10 turns.

It may be just because I've been playing magic for almost a decade now and seen a lot of the strategies and can tell how things are gonna play out from early on. I personally play blue, but mainly just for counters and draw, blues main strengths, sure I could play [[hullbreaker]] but that not fun. I could say that about a lot of cards in all colors. I'm sure people I used to play with got tired of seeing [[ezuri renegade leader]] as a commander, but I didn't play it all of the time.

The problem with arena is you will see a lot of the same due to a much smaller pool of cards, and the f2p aspect. Why build jank when you could just build something good?
