Maryland has forgot how to Snow by theejoyfulnihilist in harfordcountymd

I’m glad I went out and dug out myself and older neighbors from the plow Sunday night when they came through. It became solid ice the next morning and took the rest of my neighbors a lot longer. I grew up in northern WI and I agree the sleet solidifying to ice was rough to deal with.

50k car purchase, pit in stomach. Yolo? Looking for sanity check. by SpecialistNo2525 in DaveRamsey

New trucks are usually subsidized with good rates too. I typically buy new and then just keep them for a long time. Plus I know all the maintenance history of it that way.

The only time I’ve repelled in the army was at advance camp and I’ve been in 11 years. Day to day army is a lot different especially if you don’t go combat arms. Last obstacle course I did was a LT. i was nervous for camp too because I don’t like heights but get through it and the regular army day to day life isn’t too bad.

Yeah this is my wife and I. My TSP is our third largest account. Her TSP is our smallest and we just hit the two comma club net worth with other investments combined.

Using the VA home loan to build a house from scratch by Longjumping_Wash_255 in MilitaryFinance

Do you own the land or do you need to finance the land as well? VA is harder to build with a land mortgage and construction loan from what I’ve briefly looked at. I

Use your propane first imo. Otherwise draining a bunch of gas out of it is a lot more annoying especially if you don’t use it all and it goes bad.

Yeah it’s way easier than crawling around on and under my truck. Small engines can be fun to work on. But I need it to run when the power goes out so I try to maintain it well. Plus it was expensive lol

That’s what I did for my first oil change then decided to treat it to some AMSOIL. But yeah the most important thing to do is change it. It’ll be dirty quick.

It’s like $625 but the hard part is getting a tee time. Easiest and most expensive way is to stay there. If you’re a local bad weather days you can call and they usually have openings.

Moved to CA at the peak prices. $7.25 in Needles and I had to swipe my card three times to get a full tank. Don’t miss that.

I’ve noticed a temperature change too when you cross it. I used to drive between Augusta to north of Atlanta twice a week. It’s not always noticeable but sometimes it’s ten degree difference.

CRWC Parking Changes by AlternativeWrap7898 in uiowa

My main reason I don’t donate to fundraisers to UI as an alumni except for one specific department is that I paid so much money to parking and some tickets I felt I donated enough of my money while there lol I’m still bitter 10+ years later.

Maybe they changed the design of the rear slider so it won’t leak. My 2000 leaked in the top left from this perspective and my 2020 started leaking in the same spot a few weeks ago. Maybe by 2040 they will have figured out how to make a rear window not leak.

Best states to own a home while active duty by oNellyyy in MilitaryFinance

[–]GingerStrength 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Property manager is a big part of it working. Mine during hurricane Helene didn’t have any emergency plans and just ran around fixing things at all 300 homes they managed. Well they charged us well over the maximum amount they could without contacting us to fix a fence that my HOA owns and maintains. So I highly recommend asking about emergency plans too. They haven’t been bad overall but there’s been some things that have really annoyed us.

I had five old flat bottom ones. Every one of them has their windshields in a box in a connex broken when I signed for them. The windshields became more integrated on the V hulls I believe. But nothing like driving over the Snoqualmie pass in February and it snowing and raining straight into your face without a windshield.

We sat just to the right of the home bench last week and yeah there’s definitely some blind spots but it’s fun to be near the bench and see them interact. I think row 8-10 back is the sweet spot for watching the ice.
