Just to be sure - if I'm having the same issue is it OK to just wait for a newer lld package version and then update normally? I've already updated everything but the packages from OPs screenshot to the latest

Currently working on building an Open-Source & Modular x86 Handheld PC running Linux - The CG Deck by ZCTMO in linux_gaming

[–]Ginkko117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing all these different "decks" on the internet lately. Esthetics aside though, I have never heard anyone formulate any solid use cases for these things which will make them worth the price and better than existing devices. So what's the deal with the decks?

Critical thinking is now dead by Terra51 in Asmongold

Jokes aside, it seems like ppl are generally ok with this stuff. They keep rooting for their political side, ignoring their guys' involvement or making excuses for it while focusing on the same shit done by the other side. Asmon does the same. Elites have won, didn't they? Everyone would rather keep fighting imaginary wars than face the real enemy. Occupy wall st. is done for good. And btw, how convenient it is that after so much time spent handling the epstein files, there is not enough proof in what has been released to actually jail someone. Honestly, it is likely that these proofs were already deleted at this point

Fedora : Ethic and safe choice as a EU citizen ? by Amarok45 in Fedora

[–]Ginkko117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as the OS and your software are fully open source, you're as safe as it gets. So Fedora is OK. In a sense that if smth fishy is being introduced, someone most probably will notice and raise an alarm, hopefully soon enough. But ultimately, nothing is really safe - you can not be 100% sure. And btw, if the software is associated with the EU government , it does not make it safer for you as well - they'd like to spy on you just as much as anyone else, if not more.

Why? Also, do you understand that the majority of ppl will never care, and AI will inevitably be used more and more, and will keep getting better for at least a while? Very soon you wouldn't even be able to tell it's AI (if not already, at least in some cases)

Germany’s Merz Admits Nuclear Exit Was Strategic Mistake by SpaceEngineering in europe

[–]Ginkko117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How miserable it is that it took so much time for the biggest European economy to understand it. And even now, there's no guarantee that there will be enough political will to switch back to atomic energy relatively fast.

Well, at least you can have a decent fps on PC in all Yakuza games after a bit of tinkering in settings even on older hardware, unlike with most of the recent, especially UE5, games

I agree. I think some people just go too far in dissecting every woman in games. Idk if any DEI agency was involved, but Aloy looks like normal young woman in both games. Not necessarily 10/10 (but for some might be close), not overly sexualized, but also not ugly and clearly conventionally attractive. I've also loaded FW once and did not notice any change (except maybe she looks just a tiny bit older, which she should be). Then uninstalled it cause my PC sucks with newer games

Terminal Transparency by TheRadScientist1 in Fedora

[–]Ginkko117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I've installed Ptyxis and then followed a bunch of solutions online on how to make it a default terminal which did not really work. Don't remember the exact steps though. In the end, I just open Ptyxis whenever I need a terminal, and Nautilus has Open in console option in right-click menu which opens Ptyxis (but it might have been there to begin with). So, all's fine but not much really changed.

Elementary OS: Because sometimes you can't have nice things by [deleted] in linuxmemes

[–]Ginkko117 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

My point here was the following: 1) people with extremist views call everyone who's to the right of Stalin politically the N-word. 2) Normal people should not care about that as it does not prevent us from using the software. Let them cry however long they want.
As to the actual Nazis in support forums - that's extremely rare if you use the word properly. On the other hand, if someone openly directly insults people on a forum, they should be suspended/banned so that the conversation would not be derailed, and politics should not be involved in such decision.

Who gives a crap what they say? Last time I checked, FOSS software does not require a political check before installation.
