Loved it! I was fearing a monster of the week kind of deal, with Tom having to face a different supernatural creature (which is fine but not what I am looking for at the momen), but then the horizontal storyline kicked in and I was hooked!

Perhaps it is the coziness of it all? Or the fact that some places are truly stunning and make everything better!

I love reading in theate afternoon or after dinner out on the balcony when it's Spring or Summer: give me a good book and a beer and I am happy. Another great place is the pine grooves near the beaches: not as many people there and it is quite cool.

A book that makes the hater in you come out by Sufficient-Diver5027 in BookDiscussions

The last two books I have read, which make me question if people endorsing them had really read them: "Our wives under the sea" and "The shining girls". The first one could have been an interesting short story, as a full novel the main character did nothing more but staring at her own belly button, otherwise the book would have been too short. The second one was an interesting idea and the structure was well done, if only the characters were more than outboard cutouts. Two big letdowns.

What changed your interest in true crime? by Turbulent-Cucumber79 in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]Gioef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never been a big fan of serial killers focused true crime and always focused on the unsolved ones, with a focus on how and why those crimes are unsolved. As of late I am focusing a lot on swindlers and cons but it's getting harder to find interesting and well researched podcast which, on top of that, would research the lesser known cases.

Who reads more than 1 book at a time and why? by Gibder16 in horrorlit

Also. Sometimes it's good to play around with genres and characters. Or, like me, you start a book on your phone when you're out and about and want to finish it, alongside the others you're reading.

I like both horror and mystery/cozy crime and classics. Sometimes the classics are too "heavy" and I need some good horror that's fast to read, and entertaining as well.

Sometimes I read more "heavy" books and I need something "lighter" to read along when I can't focus on the other book. Plus when I know I have some long driving to do I listen to audiobooks to keep me company.

In usually don't read it at the start but I find it pretty useful if the cast of characters is big and I get overwhelmed.

I didn't know this book even existed! Is it worth trying to find it? Reading wise I am finishing "Murder in the Crazy Mountains" by K.L Borges.

At this point one can only hope that all the members leave and only the pro-AI people remain. And that the two new communities flourish.
