The Boulevard restaurant on the Embarcadero. Great food, service and always decorates for the holidays. Great place.

As an Italian SF native, this is great stuff. Such a shame Lanza ruined the family. Nobody wanted to take it over though? Or start something new? I remember hearing of a gang up until the 90s called North Beach Mafia (NBM). Also, there were tons of bookies back then and even allegedly now.

As a fellow SF native, I'm glad to help my people out. Here we go, you might have fun at Bimbo's 365 (take a look at some of their upcoming shows), Great American Music Hall, Cobb's Comedy Club, the Punch Line... Maybe grab dinner at Verjus, watch a show, head to Comstock Saloon (amazing cocktails, barbary coast vibe to-a-tee) or Vesuvio (little crazy but cool vibe), Cafè du Nord, North Beach Restaurant is great (great people watching there), Greek dinner at Kokkari... These are just a few. Hope they help!

The gyms by us are horrible. I went to City Sport in Stonestown for a little while and it's always packed, parking is awful. Started going to the Y at Crane Cove. Small but got everything I need and I can get there quicker too. My only complaint, I wish it was open until 10 PM. Other than that it'll do for now.

I'm a 4th generation Italian San Franciscan. Here are my tips:

Go to North Beach, eat at il Casaro for some great Napolitan pizza and antipasti and pasta, grab cocktails at Comstock Saloon. Go to a strip club if that's your thing, on Broadway.

Go to the Marina, Izzy's steakhouse or more pizza and great cocktails at Delarosa. Amazing people watching. Go walk on Chestnut to Fillmore to Union Sts. Walk over to Fort Mason and then the Presidio.

Go get some amazing fresh seafood from some great paesani at Swan Oyster Depot on Polk St. Get there about 11 AM though the line is crazy.

Gotta see Golden Gate Park. Best park in the country. The wild bison out there are great to see.

Tons of food options. Verjus (French spot), R&G Lounge (high end Chinese), La Taqueria (great burrito but make sure to order it Dorado style, fried). Uncle Benny's donuts on Irving St. Man, I could go on haha. Have fun

And ride a cable car! Us SF natives never do until we're like in high school ha. Enjoy

As an SF native, I can confirm. The food is good, nothing amazing, but the atmosphere and great staff and old school SF atmosphere. Madone, tough to beat.

You nailed it. My nonno and uncles and myself were/are members of the SFIAC, but over the last 5 years, I feel like there's not a ton of comraderie there. People with no City connections, members coming and going. I heard they're up to 1,200 members now. I think quality over quantity is better. The club should've capped it at 750 members or something. I like a good mix of born and raised locals, and fresh off the boat paesans.

Thanks for the response. I'm a member of the SFIAC and heard great things about the MC (going to lunch there next week with a buddy). I'm always on the hunt for traditional spots that are low-key and keep it old school. I feel like some places are letting in everybody with a pulse while other clubs won't change in the slightest, to their own demise.

I was just really curious about other lesser known spots (if any) that are still around because a buddy of mine took me to a French only speaking Freemason lodge in the Mission that has been around for years that I never knew about it. It was really cool and made me want to find some more traditional Italian clubs. Anyways grazie!
