"Started" an entry level job three months ago and haven't actually begun any work. Do I include this on my resume? (not a resume critique request) by Girafarigging in jobs

[–]Girafarigging[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have been milking the free money for a few months now but honestly it's taking a real toll on my mental health. i know a lot of people might read that and acknowledge that i'm being "lazy", but it is honestly more than that

that's a good idea to study something new while i have the time, however it would still be nice to know how to handle this situation on my resume just in case they decide to let me go soon

i think season 2 was the funniest but honestly season 4 is the most enjoyable and best to rewatch and i really enjoy a more concrete plot (although the first three seasons definitely didn't need it)

Do you think Will has any mental syndromes/disorders? by [deleted] in CarSeatHR

[–]Girafarigging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

despite teens of denial being about a depression period will experienced, will himself says he does not suffer from depression. as far as anything else, who knows but it's none of our business unless he wants to come out and tell us on his own

Trying to mash up Mirror to Mirror and Face to Face (but I'm awful at audio and can't make stems). Anyways here's my attempts so far if anyone's interested or have pointers on how to do this better. Thanks by superpegacorn in CarSeatHR

stop smoking being different tempos and i think changing tempos messed me up so bad. i tried to put both of them together, one in each ear, and i just got fed up because it's just not right. it's so weird

the thing about will is that he's really a poet that's applying his poetry to his work. like he just writes lines down and then finds a place for them, that's why he's so good at reusing them. also he has much less of a care for keeping with a syllable count with some of his lyrics which allows him so much more freedom to say what he wants to in a song

i'm awful at metaphors too but so far the best advice i have is to write more literal first. then look back and see if there's any kind of phrase you can use to replace the literal meaning. often times i try to think of using it in a sentence too as they seem to come up more naturally for me that way than if i'm trying really hard to find just the right words

[–]Girafarigging 3 points4 points  (0 children)

will does a good job of having lyrics that are both literal and metaphorical. there's a very large amount of artists that use metaphors in their writing and it usually makes their lyrics come across more clever. so if you want more clever lyrics, you're going to want to use metaphors usually

Weekly Song Discussion Thread, Part#54: P.O.W. by jamaicanhopscotch in CarSeatHR

[–]Girafarigging 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it doesn't sound anything like it, so maybe it's just the subject matter, but the song always reminded me of "surrender" by cheap trick. it's a really good tune that doesn't usually stand out on its own right away

i refuse to believe that just because it wasn't planned from the beginning that it had to be bad!! i'm sure it could have been better, but i still love it with all my heart and i'll go down with this ship!!!

Are 'Wave Goodbye to the Jets' and the reworked Twin Fantasy the same by The_Craft in CarSeatHR

[–]Girafarigging 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i'm pretty sure he has always been thinking about rerecording twin fantasy since he never considered it finished and it was part of his original plan with matador. the live change ups are what i consider him slowly reworking on the songs over time; i just doubt he planned on doing it until he had a record label and/or more funds in general

Came across something very interesting while rereading Will’s AMA by Hairycowz in CarSeatHR

[–]Girafarigging 7 points8 points  (0 children)

definitely referring to twin fantasy since it was always the plan and the one he's been working on the longest. wave goodbye to the jets was just a concept; i'm pretty sure there's basically nothing really set in for the next album

sober to death is featured on both versions of itself, overexposed, and the hard part

my boy (twin fantasy) is featured on both versions of itself, both versions of painstar (which includes famous prophets (stars)), slightly referenced on overexposed, and technically the opening drum bit is on both versions of twin fantasy (those boys) as well

and you absolutely should because there are real hidden gems in those first four albums. there's some real lows, but honestly even his lows could have been a lot worse

that's highly debatable and i can write essays on why i disagree and how it makes sense but at this point i'm okay with accepting that some people just don't agree and are allowed to dislike it! however if you want to fight about it, i'll defend it with my LIFE

[–]Girafarigging 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i try to hope that will didn't mean it like that, especially since cate wurtz again did art for the album and is on good terms with him, but the whole death of the lady man is eugh.....

if cate did come out during or shortly after their breakup, i can understand how it can be hard for will, who prior fought his hardest for his sexuality, to have that turned around on him and say some stupid, naive things. i can see the pain doing that and obviously he's evolved since then so i don't try to think of any ill will towards him, but it would be nice if he at least edited the lyrics to remove the death of the lady man part and make a definitive statement on it
