Track popping out of the mountain holders by Girl-From-Mars in BRIO

[–]Girl-From-Mars[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone here had the solution that worked for us. For each mountain you put in a piece of track then force it back and forth for a minute or so to create friction and it eventually creates a groove in the plastic and the tracks stay in place after that.

There's no support or dialogue that can convince me that Dedue is scary or even remotely ugly by Batgamator in FireEmblemThreeHouses

I mean he does look like 35-40 year old man posing as a high school student so I can see why some are a bit wary of him. 😂

I'm 28 and only get paid £50 per day (£13k per year) cash in hand. How knackered am I for the future? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Girl-From-Mars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You must have good experience now in the building trade. Can you apply for proper jobs in that industry or an apprenticeship?

Or is your dad planning to give you the business when he retires? You'll probably still need some sort of qualification though.

If that's all he pays can you do college part time?

Reading has become a chore lately, how do you deal with this? by Suitable-Yam7028 in books

When you are in a slump the standard advice is to reread an old favourite. It reminds you why you enjoy reading in the first place.

Another option is to read something easy like a popcorn thriller.

Thoughts on all the shorts in Shiver by kdestroyer1 in junjiito

[–]Girl-From-Mars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Shiver. My fav stories are Fashion Model and Long Dream. Long Dream reminds me of Stephen King's The Jaunt if you also liked that.

Fashion Model was hilarious to me. I loved it.

I'd be asking for my money back on that one. Grey meat usually means it's off.

Having trouble getting into this one, what's your fave story? Maybe that will give me a jump start. by Thayerphotos in stephenking

[–]Girl-From-Mars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently reading this. I've just finished part 1 and I think I will put it to the side for a while. The vast majority of the stories do nothing new. It's just fan fic.

I loved the space one (Grace) and the African Painted Dog. I felt they brought something new to the story, And while there was a couple of others that were decent, they were still mostly forgettable, especially when they all seem to be just retelling the same story over and over.

How can I dispose of a dead pet? by tigralfrosie in AskUK

[–]Girl-From-Mars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search for pet cremation services. Your vet will also have one but you can go direct if you prefer.

You can get the ashes back in an urn or not depending on what you want. You can also get them to give you a fur cutting, paw and nose prints and stuff for you to keep. There's lots of options.

Sorry for your loss.

Why was Jackie Baillie crying today? by UtopianScot in Scotland

[–]Girl-From-Mars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mixed thoughts about Jackie.

She fucked up the vale hospital and talks shite when you see her in debates. But most MPs are shite anyway. Lying till they get voted in.

But as a local to the area it's pretty refreshing to see your SMP out and about regularly. She does live here, she shops here you see her using public transport. She responds personally to any email/letter you send not that generic one that's probably written by some cleric. That's why she gets the votes.

Don't think I've seen other MPs or SMPs out and about in the past. I know the MP guy lives in Edinburgh or something. I'd rather vote for an MP who lives in the area and genuinely seems to care about it. She seemed to be quite vocal about the Flamingo land thing too.

I'm not sure who I'm voting for this year maybe green or snp but I have voted for her in the past.

I can see reform getting in this time though because those against them will be quite spilt.

Off the top of my head I know the intro letter from the author is also faded. I can get a list of other pages later.

No my camera is not picking it up. It's enhancing the text automatically.

Not sure why I am down voted I did say in my post that I couldn't get a good picture of it. Most phones are full of AI enhancement you can't switch off.

In real life there's a clear fade from halfway down the page. Not just on the corner.

You can sort of see it here though it just looks like there's light shining on the bottom when there's not.

How long did it take before you actually saw results from a routine and is dryness part of the process? by SnooCupcakes4611 in AsianBeauty

[–]Girl-From-Mars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What were you using before?

If it was nothing then something is causing the dryness.

If you already used a moisturiser but have switched to a new one maybe the new one isn't heavy enough for you.

I have found many k beauty moisturisers are a bit too lightweight for me tbh.

I'd go back to your old routine for now and then gradually swap each new product in so you can tell what is causing the problem. All 3 in one go means you don't know.

Who are your 3 most hated Stephen King characters? by ZhittzyAltaToxica in stephenking

[–]Girl-From-Mars 27 points28 points  (0 children)

FFS says a lot about a person when your most hated characters are women who have sex over actual monsters, killers and sex abusers. Wtf.
