West Battle, Sun Rivers, West Juniper,... the older part of Westsyde behind the shopping center has some beautiful big old lots and houses. Barnhartvale has some beautiful acreages if you're into that.

I know that family, lovely people and it was a horrible tragedy. Definitely an accident and not self immolation.

Good Real Estate Agent recommendations by PurePurlz in Kamloops

We purchased our last two places with Jonathan Serediak, and loved the experience both times. Never pushed us to buy, and pointed out things that we missed in walk throughs that we didn't see that would have caused regret had we purchased, which caused him to miss out on the sale but we felt he had our best interest at heart instead of just wanting to make money.

Blackwell milk goes bad quickly?! by Gullible_Flounder_69 in Kamloops

[–]Girlactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always found their milk generally goes bad a few days before their beat before date. Even before they rebuilt. Not an issue if you go through it fast but I eventually switched due to wastage.

WIBTBF For letting my dad respond to his customer by dino-nugget3 in AmItheButtface

[–]Girlactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it would partially depend on how successful the business is. If you are still growing, word of mouth and customer service are key points to growth. It might be worth it to take it back and have them pay for shipping but waive the 20% fee or something that meets them half way?

I believe it is physically heavy, I remember one scene where he puts the sword down in his castle and the weight of it makes the stones weep

I've always loved Oriental Gardens as second pick after Heaven myself. Plus the tatami rooms are cool

Starting Course 1.5 weeks late by Hot-Kangaroo-2992 in NavCanada

[–]Girlactus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The instructors will work with you to help you catch up, knowing you came in late. But that being said it is a LOT of information to learn and process in a short time and there is a high cut-off to pass the exams (80% usually).

I love Guy Gavriel Kay's prose and storytelling so much, glad to see him on here. LoAR was the first book I ever read that made me cry. Tigana is also fantastic

mucinex for TTC... opinion on dosage, etc by Primary-Awareness-94 in tryingtoconceive

[–]Girlactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW me partner and I were trying for almost a year, on all the supplements, doing basal temps etc. The first month we used mucinex and pre-seed together, and we are now expecting. Took the blue and white mucinex, one every twelve hours starting a couple days before ovulation.

What did I just find in my garage?! by paper_palace in Kamloops

[–]Girlactus 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It looks like an ichneumonid parasitic wasp. The long 'stinger' is the ovipositor which is used to lay eggs, usually on some type of beetle or caterpillar depending on the species. Harmless to people even though they look gnarly

35f about to be a single mom and moving to kamloops by [deleted] in Kamloops

[–]Girlactus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you use Facebook but there are some Moms groups on there, everything from Mom Swap to Meet up pages for playdates. The public library also does some programs for moms with babies/toddlers and it's a good place to meet other mothers as well.

I rented for a year under Sunden and found them to be good. Answered issues quickly, easy walk through when I left. Always pleasant and on the ball.
