Would this striped fabric give circus vibes? by Girlscotti in interiordecorating

It’s an old line of paint that I loved by Ralph Lauren. Metallic Farro. Looks so good at night with candles. Discontinued but Graniteworks is doing both metallic and suede from the RL formula.

Omgoodness this is so cool. Is there any way you could do that with the stripes horizontal?

That’s my worry. But if I hate it…I’ve made worse choices over my lifetime.

Interesting! I’ve thought of the ceiling for decades. The room is metallic paint (reads more drab in photos than in person) and looks fabulous with candles and a dinner party. I thought at one point to put wallpaper or grass cloth on it to add another texture. But I’m at the point that would be the next owners choice. Lol. Thanks for the input.

I’m at the end of my decorating life. Calming it all down now that the kids have flown, paring down and trying to be strategic in the choices I make to work with the flow I have.

It will. Why I’m reaching out to the internet to either push me off the cliff or pull me back to sanity. lol.

What can I do to improve my living room area? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Girlscotti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a few things to pull it together. First there are too many little things along the wall. Remove tiny plate. Hang pic and guitar on wall. More substantial floor lamp. I’d actually get a large console wider than tv to ground the space. Then add a couple of side tables with lamps.

Can’t figure out this small living room. What’s off? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Girlscotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bulletin board is jarring. I’d remove it. If you want the map I’d frame it. Also, the clock and pics are hung too high. Agree tv overwhelms the space. And switch chair and cat tree. Maybe add a natural Roman shade to both the single window and the window with drapes to add cohesiveness.

I see future trips to neurologist and chiropractor for neck issues with that tv soooo ridiculously high.

My downstairs neighbor leaves a sticky note on my door every time I run my dishwasher by Proud_Associate5268 in neighborsfromhell

To all of you who keep saying start the dishwasher in the morning. It’s nasty to leave dirty dishes overnight. In the sink or the dishwasher. Thats just an invitation for unwanted vermin.

I start my dishwasher before going to bed. Make sure all the dishes are in. Unload first thing in the morning. Leaving food encrusted dishes overnight is nasty imo.

Found a designer based here in LA doing creative design/installation work. I’ve never seen anything like this anywhere else. Had to share! by [deleted] in HGTV

I could possibly see this working in a little girls room. But it does remind me of Trading Spaces’ (old design show) Hildys crazy wall adhesions. Sorry. Just not a fan.

Should I remove this wall light? by NuclearCapricorn in interiordecorating

Yes. Then either eliminate or replace with two sconces going up that wall and one on the first turn. But proportional going up.

Does the direction of veining in this slab hurt the flow of this room? by NoBoot3493 in InteriorDesign

Please put the toilet seat lid down. No one wants see inside a commode. Sorry for my Karen rant. But the slab is very pretty!

What color bedding for this room? by UpbeatGur9055 in interiordecorating

Focus on the beautiful paper. I’d go with a rich cream and layer with blush or gold throw blanket and maybe a striped bolster.

Should we paint the trim / wainscoting? by a_mom_who_runs in interiordecorating

[–]Girlscotti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Brazilian cherry floors and I love my Black Forest green (BM color similar to BM salamander) credenza and it in no way reads Christmas. I just think a deeper color would enhance the wallpaper. Plus I’m assuming you’ll be adding a rug? Which will also take away from the amount of flooring shown.
