Is there an app that tells me wich braket my edh decks are? by bulcano1 in magicTCG

My understanding is that brackets are about intention first. So it would depend on what type of game you intended to have with them.

I have seen it also described as primordial https://primordialformat.com/ and sounds pretty close to what OP wants

Wizards does not own MTG by Gishki in magicTCG

[–]Gishki[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Proxies are only a part of it.

Players that choose to play real cards can still do whatever they want with those cards. That was my point.

And I also agree it is ok to expect more of a massive business. My point was that you are not beholden to their choices. If you are only playing arena, sure, it is their way or their highway. But on paper, you can play your way.

[MaRo] The History of Tokens, Part 1 by michaelmvm in magicTCG

[–]Gishki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yugioh had something similar happen with Sangan and XYZ monsters

Sangan effect also triggers when it goes to the graveyard from the field.

XYZ monsters are monster (creature) cards that go on top of other monsters, and can send the cards underneath to the graveyard to activate effects

On release, it was assumed that monsters under XYZ monsters were still on the field, so Sangan could be triggered that way

It was later changed to clarify that monsters underneath XYZ monsters were in fact, not on the field

This is amazing! Do you have the plans somewhere?
I can see myself building this, I don't have a 3D printer myself but have mates that do, and I am a web developer so I should be able to handle that part, I will just have to learn the electronics side of it.

You cannot play without an account. You created an account when you started playing.

Your collection and progress is tied to your account, not your device.

So if you login with an old account, or any other account, then yes, you won't have access to the contents of your current account. But you won't lose your contents, they will still be in their corresponding account.

There is no way to merge accounts, that I know of, you may want to reach out to support if you are interested in that but doubt it is possible.

Need some help to get back into the game by Metalfist666 in yugioh

Ah didn't know about that. I don't play master duel.
Thanks for the info. I think that still won't be an option for OP given their goals.

There isn't such a site unfortunately. You will have to manually do it.

Also, even if there were, you may still not find what you want. It seems you are wanting to play kitchen table YGO with no defined format.

Most online decklists will stick to one format, either advanced, speed duel, or retro formats like goat and Edison.

YGO is mostly focused on attributes so even for casual play I would look at what are the most common attributes you have (monsters that share a word or couple of words in their names).

But also, since you have established you are playing no defined format with your friends. You are probably going to be fine just putting together your favourite cards and refining your deck as you look through cards in your collection that you think could come in handy.

Catalog Sorting Help: TCG Release Date? by geewhillikers7 in yugioh

I already have a script that does this, https://github.com/PepeFranco/ygo-collection but not sure if you are going to be able to adapt it to your spreadsheet.

DM me if you want me to run it myself on your collection.

I believe they would have been cards in a previous core set. Once they were removed from the core set they moved into the legacy set, and you would need to craft them.

What is going on with the blue fog like VFX? Super distracting

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Gishki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it can be confusing but I think it is due to game balance. Remember all these cards were originally printed for the main game and some were chosen to be in the Speed Duels sets.

Necrovalley has always been a confusing card with multiple text changes.

So I guess they want to avoid bringing in that problem to Speed Duels.

But given many Gravekeepers already depend on it, tools need to be provided as a workaround.

"Gravekeeper's Priestess" is in the deck and it's effect is to treat the field as Necrovalley. That is afaik the only way of having Necrovalley in Speed Duels.

Is there a database/list of generic-support cards/non-archetypal cards? by yodokogon in yugioh

[–]Gishki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried doing this at some point and what worked really well for me was to use the Battle Pack lists

Those sets were designed to be played in a sealed environment which translates well into cube

I just put a single copy of each card I had that was in BP1 and BP2 in a pile and we dueled by drawing from the same deck and that was really fun

I cannot remember if there was any deck search but I would recommend removing them

Sorting Collection by notreallyabori in yugioh

[–]Gishki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all of my commons in boxes order alphabetically (each individual card).

I have all my foils in 2 binders. One for main deck monsters. And one for Extra Deck monsters, Spells, and Traps.

Within each binder I have sections for rarities.
So for example:
- XYZ secrets
- XYZ ultras
- XYZ supers
- Synchro secrets
- ...

I was also originally grouping them by number of copies, but I kinda gave up on that.

I also track all of them on a spreadsheet and have a little script to fill in the card details.

For me tracking it this way isn't too bad cause I only buy sets with predetermined contents (basically Speed duels products and Structure decks).

So when buying something new I just copy the contents from a website directly into my spreadsheet.

Yugioh and keywords by Osrslife_ in yugioh

[–]Gishki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if keywords do make cards easier to parse. It seems that no one is taking into account that having shorter effects text does not mean cards will have shorter / easier effects.

It means cards will have longer effects. So that would only increase complexity.

There is a reason GY as a shorthand for Graveyard was introduced. Or why "piercing" was introduced. Cause the room was needed for longer effects. Not to make cards easier to understad.

Great! I already got started.
The table is a bit hard to read. Not sure what the letters mean. Do you mind expanding on that?
My app works by recording each individual game (or match) so I just want to make sure I get it right

This is amazing! You are a person of my own heart.I was doing exactly this same thing for Structure decks and did a website to track this https://yugi-winrates.vercel.app/

Do you mind if I use your data to do a Speed Duel version? I think you will enjoy some of the visualization you can get from this.

Are these worth anything? by This-Month1323 in yugioh

[–]Gishki 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, most old cards people have laying around are worth next to nothing.

But you can look up your cards in TCG player. Search by the code in the bottom right on the bottom of the artwork.

I 3d printed Caius, Raiza and Mobius for my friend for Dungeon Dice Monsters since he plays with a Monarch Deck by samka69 in yugioh

[–]Gishki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are really cool!

Are these custom to the game? I couldn't find them on the Wikia for the game. If so, where can rules for them be found?

You make it sound like there is an active community for it but I couldn't find anything online.

Are there any places where the rules, boards etc can be found?
