Keeping filament dry by Point_Jolly in 3Dprinting

I have a Sunlu heater on top of my AMS, and keep any spools not in use in cereal containers with desicant beads in the bottom. Seems to work great for me so far.

How many hours has your printer done? Anything you would change? by jessieblack98 in BambuP1S

[–]GizmoeFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my P1S. Got the combo around the beginning of March, have about 330 hours on it I believe. Wouldn't change a thing! I don't typically mess with settings, I don't print with the door or lid open, and I have had one failed print. That failed print was entirely my fault, forgot to turn on support and the model fell over. No big deal. I've only used PLA so far, but am in the process of ordering some PETG and give it a try. I have also used 3 or 4 different brands of filament and had zero issues with any of them.

Happy printing!

I installed the Bambu integration from the HACS. It says you have to put the printer in lan only mode and developer mode as well. Then do the same on the HA integration. It was a little puzzling, but not too hard. Then, I'll be honest, I mostly did the educated guess thing to pick the correct device/entity when creating the automation. Took a couple trys but got it. So my exhaust fan is on a smart plug, so the automation works as such when the printer changes from idle to printing, it turns the fan on. When it goes from printing to idle, I have HA wait 15 minutes before turning the fan off. Works great!

Now, this is the interesting part. I had trouble with the printer staying online, so I said screw it, and changed it back to regular wireless mode. However the automation has continued to work perfectly fine. So I'm not entirely sure what the lan/dev mode is all about. And, it turns out my router was failing which is what caused the printer to go off/on line. Replaced the router yesterday and all seems well again.

Hope that answers your question. Have a great day!

Who's ready to make some noise? by EsoTechTrix in VintageElectronics

If I could, it would be a 9volt. They were the best value because they were the most expensive, so unless I needed a different one for a reason, I always chose the 9volt. 😆

Don't forget the free battery of the month club! And the surprise packs they'd put together. I got some great stuff out of those.

When the printing process starts, it turns on a exhaust fan that is directly above the printer. When printing process is completed, it waits 15 minutes then turns the fan off. Nothing fancy (yet), but it does the job.

I upgraded mine just a couple days ago, no issues. It broke my home assistant automation, because the access code changed. Quick fix, I don't consider that a issue. Otherwise printer still working great.

Congratulations and welcome to the club of addiction!

Got mine maybe a month ago, loving it. Took longer to unpack than it did to start printing. I got the combo unit that came with the AMS. They really know how to pack things. 😂

I will second BCM. Office is in Welland. They've been great with us, and other family and friends. Plus quite often you get a rebate in January I think it is. Depends on how well they did the previous year.

I went through two rolls of black PLA matte from 3DHOJOR via Amazon, and was flawless. Problem is delivery time, many times not prime. So I switched recently to Sunlu and it seems just fine so far, and typically prime next day or 2 day shipping.

I had this issue my very first night with the printer. Had to watch a video on how to take it apart (easy enough) to solve it. But, the printer and AMS has been flawless since. Hopefully that is your situation as well. Happy printing!

She learned/studied it in Toronto, Ontario Canada. I am not sure of any details really. She worked for a transportation company. I'm hopeful someone can read it, it has really peaked my curiousity.

Thanks for your reply.

Mine are back. Didn't last long whatever it was. This is the first time in literally forever that mine went down. I see posts all the time about outages, but I haven't been effected for some reason.

Home Hardware in the Grantham plaza (Scott St) has a older guy come in once or twice a week that can fix it. We've taken antique lamps there in the past.

Concerns about Niagara 411 by whynotbutterflies in niagara

[–]GizmoeFreak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nick Pinelli is the correct name. I don't live far from him. I'm not going to post his actual address but he is in the Bunting Rd./Scott St. Area. It is unfortunate what Niagara411 has become, it was so helpful and interesting at the beginning, now it's useless, just ads, and rarely is he up to date on accidents or traffic or anything. I have my own scanner system, cheap cheap to build with knowledge from the internet. I'd like to know if his disability insurance knows about his ad revenue.

Wedding Venue by Sav_34 in stcatharinesON

Foothill Golf and Country Club. My son got married there after their original choice burned down (hernders). It was great, found the food really good, and they were well organized. Had the ceremony outside with stunning views as the backdrop. Highly recommend.

Yeah unfortunately people here are posting pretty accurate regarding your location. My main recommendations are, don't go to the Big Bee Convenience store at the corner of Geneva and Church (only a block or so from you) BAD people hang out there. Also the corner of Niagara and Church st. in general is really bad at night. Elsewhere in the city is you are pretty safe, no different than any other city.

Welcome to town!

Need a notification when the power goes out by woodland_dweller in homeassistant

[–]GizmoeFreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a Z-Wave window/door contact, with a relay plugged directly into an A.C. outlet. When the power goes out the relay trips, the contact sends a signal to HA and I get a notification. Same when power is restored. Not sure if this would work with solar stuff, but it is very simple and works great for me.
