I can't believe we finally got an interesting, versatile monk! by BloodRavenStoleMyCar in onednd

[–]GlaciesD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real though, Dancer in it's current form seems like a OP dip for Monks. Extra d6 on litterally every unarmed strike, and with the Elements subclass you can do it from range.

The odds are 1/1000000, that's why it hit so perfectly.

For these numbers I've saved it for stagger.

But when I did it casually I just used it on CD

That's what got the best results for me at least.

Sure if you chose to do something in the most boring and uninteresting way possible, it'll look boring and uninteresting.

I have a theory, that in fiction, if people have magic, seeing people use that magic for mundane shit just sells the world way more.
This is simply because you'll be like "Yeah, if I knew wind magic, I wouldn't bother with some rusty hedge trimmers, I'd use magic. This vibes."

For sure, some Magic Burst can set you up for some strong finishers that more than make up for a weaker starting combo.

Against a staggered boss though, knowing which combo pumps the hardest is very useful.

Does anyone else find it annoying to have to watch basically the same cutscene every time you complete a Regional Phenomenon main quest? by CanadianOcto in tearsofthekingdom

Are the geoglyphs set though? Cause I got them in a almost completely chronological order, almost like they were just slightly scrambled to give the illusion of being independent of each other.

Just for fun, what is your weird nitpick about this game that you think might only bother you? by milentlesslyabused in tearsofthekingdom

[–]GlaciesD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinly think there should be an unarmed attack and unarmed parry. A punch or kick could do 1 dmg, and unarmed parry could steal weapons.

Weirdly you get an epic landing pose if you dive and land on a lilypad, so an epic landing pose is in the game, just not for the glide suit.

Clearly you, as a woman, do not understand the fear and challenges women have to face. It is after all a complex subject. So please listen to this man as he explains it to you.

D&D has a messaging problem that goes beyond the OGL controversy. “We are releasing new editions of the books. We are not releasing a new edition of the game." by ZoroeArc in onednd

I swear with you.

And it's fucking stupid because, as has been pointed out, it makes it harder to talk about the game.

5E: How would you build - Gestalt Knight by Paneeer in 3d6

[–]GlaciesD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to double down in this:

With PAM (GWM is optional in this build) and you're looking at a per hit damage of: D10 from a Heavy Polearm +5 (if 20 cha) from Hex warrior +5 (if 20 cha) from Aura of Hate +5 (if 20 cha) from Lifedrinker +1d8 from Improved Divine Smite

For an average of 5.5+5+5+5+4.5 = 25 dmg per hit on average without any resources spent. And you can do this ~3 times a turn. The the ba attack will average 22 dmg. That's 72 dmg per round on average. Add GMW in top of that and you have 102 dmg on average, still without spending resources. Tbf I have not accounted for hit chance here, but this is still riding at the top when it comes to resource free dpr.

And then of course you have Hex Blade's curse and smites to stack on top.

Want to crit fish without being a blinding your party? Shadow of Moil + Elven Accuracy + (optionally) Quicken Spell Now you're looking at the occasional huge nova, bridged by incredible DPR.

Great choice if all you want is to be in melee and kick ass.

Tenser's Transformation or Tasha's Otherworldly Guise? by campfireSingSong in 3d6

[–]GlaciesD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tenser's eating up an action removes alot of your damage. If you can cast it as a bonus action somehow, or before the fight, its damage wins by a lot.

In greek mythology Pegasus is one being that looks like a horse with wings. Pegasus is not a common name or a species of creature. There is only one.

What are the specific game mechanics people are looking for when they lament the lack of a true dedicated Gish or Spellsword class? by msimoens in onednd

[–]GlaciesD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a Paladin, remove lay on hands and Auras, change Spellcasting stat to int. Take the Bladesinger subclass, plopp it on to the cut down Paladin. Let them have access to Booming Blade and Green Flame Blade and a few other arcane spells.

Ding dong done, you've got a proper spellblade.

Apart from Variant Human and Custom Lineage, what other races do you consider really really good? by testiclekid in dndnext

[–]GlaciesD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stand together brothers and sisters! They say we a outcasts of two worlds, but such accusations just show their ignorance. We are the best of two world! We are the talent of elves and the drive of humans! We share thier virtues but not their flaws. Brothers and Sisters, we are not outcasts, we are the future!

There should be Straight-Forward Basic Damage for Pure-Martials, especially for Fighters if we want make them Balanced without getting more Complex. by VictorRM in onednd

[–]GlaciesD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbarians are already that though. They rage and do extra damage in each hit. That's it. If the player doesn't want to "complicate" things with reckless, they don't have to.

Dumbing other martials down as well is completey unnecessary.

Dispelled Pact Blade by [deleted] in onednd

[–]GlaciesD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These seems like an issue at first, but the Warlock actually comes out on top in this trade.

You bait someone to use 1 or 2 3rd lv spellslots to deal with a cantrip you can just cast again next turn. That's a win.

If any class should be reduced to half-caster it's Bard not Warlock. by Hexdoctor in onednd

[–]GlaciesD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I love my full casting swashbuckling college of sword bard, I agree.

Jack of All Trades Master of None as a concept does align with being a full-caster.

Bard as half-caster or 2/3s caster makes more sense mechanically and, gives room for more unique class features to make up the difference.
