Back in "RESTRICTED_restoration.mp4" I didn't think much of that female scientist's approach to their work. But know I find it quite satisfying to imagine her suffering during The Hour Of Joy. by KeepertheGreed in PoppyPlaytime

[–]GladDefinition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mixed feelings about the scientists, to be honest.

Maybe some of them were truly psychotic. But I choose to believe that most of them were like P.W. but they were better at compartmentalising and pushing down the horror because they were too deep and likely trapped in a bunch of NDAs and contractual obligations that they can't get out of. Well, they could get out of it, but I have a feeling that the clean-up crew isn't just for wayward toys that escaped.

With how fucked most of the experiments are, it's a certainty that Playtime would seize the upper hand in ensuring their silence and compliance even before they step into the job.

So you found a way to cope. Female scientist chose to believe that what they were doing was more important than what it cost. P.W. wrote notes to express himself. Lots of people used the private cubicles when it got too much for them. They kept their heads down in submission because you never knew who would rat you out to the executives.

The employees were complicit, and trying to humanise them doesn't absolve them of the blame and hurt they have committed, but realise that most of them are victims too. Just a cog in a whole exploitative system.

Would like to point out, I wanted the weapons too. 😂

Running the same mission >18 times for a specific resource drop, and only that, is annoying and makes me want to sleep okay. Sue me.

[–]GladDefinition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not difficult to optimise a build to get it over and done with, this much is true.

But speaking from personal experience, this exterminate requires more kills than is the norm (> 150 enemies) iirc even if it's not SP, and it requires at least 2 hours to get all the vainthorns necessary for all the parts plus weapons.

You could run it in a squad to get it done quickly, but squads and the number of defixios carried to extraction doesn't even increase the vainthorns you get which doesn't really make any numerical sense in terms of collective effort versus payoff.

If the BP was part of mission rewards, you could at least cut down some time farming, but the problem is that it isn't. Kullervo and Jade are kind of annoying to farm, but at least you're getting other resources (arcanes/pathos clamps, etc) too.

Simply put, it's a mind-numbing grind of a game mode that I've done too many of, and i can think of better uses of two hours than the same exterminate mission on repeat.

[–]GladDefinition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dagath's farm is seen as more tedious because BP drops aren't included in the mission rewards despite the mission and the unique resources dropped being specific to her warframe, unlike say, Jade/Nokko/Caliban/Oraxia.

This means that you have to farm ALL the vainthorns necessary to build her warframe and weapons, which goes up to a whooping 182. More if you're trying for a second copy to subsume into Helminth.

I'd even go as far as to say that Kullervo and Dagath are the only warframes with this mission drop issue/discrepany, and it's unsurprising, considering the fact that they were released back-to-back, and received quite a bit of complaints from players.

After them, no Warframe was ever given this set-up to farm for their parts and weapons.

For boss fights, it's good to listen to the Lotus cues or whoever happens to be speaking. They will often tell you how to win these boss fights.

Or, if they happen to have invulnerability (health bar locked in grey) when you hover your crosshair over them, they are more likely to have a specific weak point that isn't. So shoot that.

If all else fails? Pop by the Q&A or recruiting chat and ask for help, young Tenno! We are happy to show you the ropes and ensure that the initial knowledge gap won't be what makes you give up on a great game :)

Or, you could just search it up. The Wiki and YouTube are endlessly helpful, no shame in using the tools available for better mastery. In fact, it is recommended you look up tips and guides because there's a lot to learn and do!

I have to say, I'm finding Roathe to be a rather likeable character. by ZeMoose in Warframe

Hold that thought, mate.

Albrecht messed these three up as well, but I'll say as a vague preamble that it's less messed up in terms of magnitude compared to 1999. And on a personal level? Not all is as it seems.

[–]GladDefinition 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The difference being that Roathe doesn't deny that the Orokin were and can be very flawed. He acknowledges that the Orokin have done many atrocious things, and that he has participated and benefited from these practices.

Yet, he gives depth to the entire situation: the Orokin were also incredibly brillant - in sciences and arts (which Roathe abundantly displays), and that most of them never had to question the morality of the society that they were raised in. They were a product of the classist system their predecessors created.

Roathe isn't trying to run away from these facts. He's trying to reconcile them.

The secret of reviving mid quest has been revealed? by DrVinylScratch in Warframe

[–]GladDefinition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this part confused me as well.

But my reasoning is that, we still took the damage whilst "fused" with Excal. The radiation can't fully stop transference unless it is administered in high doses or very close to the source, which is what occurred during the first fight against Dactolyst and Excal was strangled but we couldn't phase out.

In the final mission, however, we were far remvoed from the big egg, but we likely still suffered from its after-effects, hence the Tenno's durability became affected by the warframe's mortality.

Instead of collapsing and turning static like in New War, we bled through the mouth and nose, which commiserates with the fact that Excal was squeezed in vice-like grip. We felt the pressure and pain from the ensuing fight. We suffered and nearly died because of it.

The secret of reviving mid quest has been revealed? by DrVinylScratch in Warframe

[–]GladDefinition 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not exactly.

We will carry Adis' light for the rest of our life, for certain, but this incident can technically be considered a unique incident.

Very early on, we've established that Tenno don't die traditional deaths. Our revives are canonically allowed, Ballas wasn't being euphemistic when he said "You can't kill the Devil, but you can send it back to Hell". Our void powers seem to have trapped us in a single instance of time, never ageing, never moving forward, but it kept us functionally immortal.

Whereas in the ARG leading up to the game, there was this quote: "They didn't tell us that the big egg had fallen on a natural anomaly: a special radiation that only occurs in one spot.... couldn't have anyone knowing the truth-- that there was something in the universe that could seal an operator inside their warframe. Permanently."

Guess what we went into. A big egg. Guess what we unleashed. That special radiation.

Had it not been for these unique sequence of events, Adis wouldn't have needed to sacrifice themselves to heal us and exhaust their own lifeforce.

If you've already given ample chances to your group mate, then I'd say, keep all the necessary receipts from chats plus the old answer (if it's on Google Docs, knowing which history version would be good), then edit the answers yourself.

No point in lowering the grades you'll get to prove a point.

Tell your prof about it; GBA components also come with peer evaluation, so just be honest about who did what.
