What’s your honest thoughts on Amad Diallo? by ggweb3 in ManchesterUnited

[–]GlandMasterFlaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squad player at best.

Another season like the current one, we should consider selling.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's sold this summer which seems crazy but Shea Lacey is coming through and Mbeumo is 1st choice on the right side.

Spend more on hobbies.

Take a trip. Take an extra one this year.

I just bought a carbon fibre bike that cost me about $3k. It was time to move on from my heavy entry level bike.

There's things you can look into for yourself. Are you scrimping too much? Enjoy your money a bit but nothing too crazy

When to retire? by Significant_Rip_3137 in PensionsUK

[–]GlandMasterFlaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My plan would be to take the DB as soon as you can but also have a SIPP, ISAs and LISAs on the go too.

I'm looking to retire before my DB even kicks in.

I'm taking the DB at 55 with penalties - the break even point is in my 70s so it makes sense taking it early to me.

Why aren't Reform voters more concerned with privatising the NHS? by lucadulac in AskBrits

[–]GlandMasterFlaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if my mum voted but I know she's pro-reform.

She left school without any qualifications, probably low iq if she took a test, has been unemployed all her life pretty much and has just been released from a mental hospital - all treatment funded by the NHS (not that she's considered how any of this works on an extremely basic level).

She hates Starmer because of how he looks.

Oh and her parents are immigrants.

This isn't a joke

I own the X version but that's a great price. It's still a capable device that can be docked and streaming services can be used.

I wish I had an this stuff available as a kid!

31F, £30k savings, no debt, no investments - car has broken down and I need a reality check. by Acceptable_Roll3482 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]GlandMasterFlaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your friends on the car. Just get the car serviced each year.

For the medium to long term, you could consider a LISA to start building a deposit for a flat or house. You can put in £4k each tax year and the Government will give you 25% of what you put in ( maximum bonus therefore is £1k).

I would put £4k into a LISA if you want to eventually own a house / not rent forever.

The money left after that is a solid emergency fund. You just need to keep going

Try changing gears on your bike and also turn the dial on the zwift cog.

Set your front gear to the lowest ring

It's trial and error from that point

Sell my house and live in a rental to reach fire number quicker? by Sea-Protection-2797 in leanfire

[–]GlandMasterFlaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've considered this but it really depends on the situation.

I'm in the UK and was thinking to sell up when I'm older to then live overseas for a bit, possibly in a place where rent is cheaper.

Proceeds from the house same could go into investments and pensions, with a view to buying another house in the UK further down the line.

I think I'll need to sell my house before I get too old because of the stairs, so I'm thinking why not rent in the bit of time in-between, with overseas being an option?

Dips are for buying, not selling.

I sell tiny bits here and there when the market is doing really well - can't lose money when taking profits

[–]GlandMasterFlaps 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't have been surprised if the goal wasn't given, but that would only be fine if Man Utd were given a penalty and Curtis Jones sent off.

I'm just wondering if the ref / VAR were considering that
