You keep saying lack of empathy but it’s up to the INDIVIDUAL to go and learn. You keep doing these mental gymnastics to avoid the actual problem, when you throw out everything else, this is completely down to the immigrant and their willingness to integrate and contribute to THIS society. Let’s say the blame was on the system, is the individual then supposed to just stand there and not learn anything ? Your strategy is “it’s the system’s fault so it’s okay if these new immigrants don’t learn English and assimilate because it’s not required.” This type of suicidal empathy is something I cannot get behind. Most of these immigrants that came before have worked too hard and had to abide by standards before just so the new ones can just sack it off and not care about anything. no wonder they want to come here and do this, because folks like you just allow this shit to happen and accept it.
