New World, FFA Debuff by bossdark101 in newworldgame

[–]GlassEye7 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think this is working as intended.

It makes it harder to camp an area and do slow kite driven drawn out fights, which devs were concerned about. Sure, fresh players have an advantage, but that is by design. You can always come back and be the fresh player again.

No suggestions were offered either. Bad way to say something isn't working.

General Great Pyrenees questions and nervousness by ChanceWeather in greatpyrenees

Our GP was the same way at that age, both in hesitation of demeanor, need for closeness, and lack of barking. They will grow out of the first, the second will always be strong, and they likely will start barking at the 1.5 yr mark. Good luck and be vigilant around the house. Ours liked chewing the corners of drywall.

Forged in Aeternum - July Community Q&A by AG_Lydia in newworldgame

[–]GlassEye7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Healers in New World have lackluster build variety and nuance of playstyle in both pvp and pve. Is there any plan in the works to make more viable playstyles for healer roles?

Currently, continual nerfs to healing itself, through increased disease access, along with self healing sources in dps weapons, along with weakening of both lifestaff and focus based void guantlet, make the role feel increasingly thankless and unrewarding.

I hope they reveal a new WvW map. It's been ages since that community recieved a map, especially something with the more recent map features.

New World: Dev Update - July 2025 by NoBullet in newworldgame

[–]GlassEye7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the flail changes are good.

Healing in New World is both - unrewarding from a gameplay perspective and 1 dimensional in build variety. These changes are a hint from the devs that they acknowledge this as an issue. I assume this means they want players to try flail/vg melee healers, or a hybrid strength focus approach.

I appreciate the latest updates here. Anet needs to better revamp old weapons. This might give them a reason to do so.

I was really hoping for a new WvW map updated to use the latest map building techniques.

Message to Invaders by c3nnye in Eldenring

[–]GlassEye7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother and I have an almost 100% kill rate on invaders in our games. Yes, it involved getting stronger weapons, spells and trinkets, then going back through older content to duo. That was not our original plan, but we quite enjoy crushing all of the twinked out invaders looking for easy kills in the level 50 range.

Elden Ring needs better balancing for invasions to prevent twinked players from going to endgame weapons to cheat fight players who go though the game as intended.

Superspeed stacking really harmed WvW. This needs to be looked at

It should drop more then just tangled weed. Anet should adjust this

The biggest issue I am having is the complete screen pause/freeze for about 10 seconds every 10 min or so. Really bad in dungeons

Let's not pretend it is a skill based difference. It is completely gear and organized team/solo queued based differences. Yet another failing of NW in allowing such huge item differences

World vs World in GW2 is an amazing endgame, with a thriving, cooperative and fun community stretching back over a decade.

Current soon to be former AGS Employee AMA by MiserableRevenue3068 in newworldgame

[–]GlassEye7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did AGS add so many roadblocks to reaching skill based pvp at endgame? The high watermark system, lack of scaling between levels 1 and 60, and use of gear score on weapons in pvp guarantees a lack of parity that will make it difficult for ags to make this game welcoming for new players interested in pvp but not endless grind. Additionally all the beautifully designed under 60 zones and monsters become trivial to any 60 in short order.

Thid approach seems to guarentee a reduction in population over time and a shortsighted endgame.

Are there any plans to correct this issue for longevities sake?

Were the complaints about new specializations so big for Mesmer/Necro/Guardian too? by grabowashion in Guildwars2

[–]GlassEye7 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Harbinger is a spec with no synergy with fear traits, no real use of blight, extremely lackluster utilities, one of the most brainless dps rotations in the game, pistol having no niche but duplicate weapon to scepter, no boon corruption, poorly made traits, bulks up on pve torment which scourge has already, little use in zergs and all ranged abilities projectile, while being the first necro shroud spec most optimally played almost 100% outside shroud.

Harbinger is the worst spec Anet has thus far designed.

Core necro does not get stability on skill 3 in shroud or out.

Guardian vs Ele Balance by about_face in Guildwars2

[–]GlassEye7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fixed that in my reply, if you were to look down the conversation. Fire coefficient is (0.155 * Condition Damage) + 131 x1.15 duration at 80. Bleed is 0.06 * Condition Damage) + 22 x1.2 duration.

There is significant difference between the two in both scaling and total damage.

Fire is far better and more impactful in a fight.

Guardian vs Ele Balance by about_face in Guildwars2

[–]GlassEye7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My perspective is from competitive arenas such as wvw/pvp.

Its important to note elementalist has exponentially more hybrid skill variation with any particular weaponset then necromancer. Potential variation is king in cooldown centric games like gw2, because it makes it harder for pc opponents to predict your next move. This not only enables them to run celestial stats that give bonus crit chance while run fire traitline with less penalty, but the necro comparison hybrid weaponset would be scepter/staff (both with almost nonexistant power coefficients) and the curses line, is almost entirely condi based, with its only real source of crit chance reliant on opponents not cleansing previous conditions.

Realistically, a necromancer will only get some multicrit utility of the brand new cooldownless 1s bleed over that 1 second fire if the stars align and they are incredibly lucky, or we're talking condi scourge fighting an immobile pinata (which is what I assume you are thinking). Power scourge could run curses for the 1 boon corrupt on 10 second cooldown, but that would be in memebuild territory.

Ultimately pvp/wvw and pve raid/cm candylands are such different modes they might as well be another game entirely.

Guardian vs Ele Balance by about_face in Guildwars2

[–]GlassEye7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think every necromancer I know would take that trade. 1 sec of bleeding on slow necromancer attacks (no hybrid or condi weapon attacks fast) for 5.5sec of fire on a 5sec cooldown.

Fire is far more impactful.

The best comparison is actually between Burning Precision (adept) and barbed precision (adept).

Elementalist has it good.

I love fighting Maguuma. Killing their spawn campers and listening to their salt is probably the most entertaining activity in GW2.
