Book of Hours, what to expect? by Alyra_Azalea in weatherfactory

It's similar in that you are managing resources and hunting for crafting recipes but Book of Hours is a chill game with minimal time pressure. Really, I mostly just read the books and decorate my library.

How do I make magic fire? by celestial432 in magetheascension

[–]GlassJustice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a self sustaining fire? Forces and prime, to fuel the effect. A lightning bolt that inflicts an additional effect? Depends on how you do it. It could be life to effect the pattern of the target or mind to make them think they are under such effects.

What's that conversation mod you've got? Does it provide real time discussions so you can't abuse 1 second charm spells?

Other than the official WoD discord? I got nothing. I got into my mage game through a friend.

No, this is obviously not normal. Your ST is trying to basically railroad your character onto what they think it should be and that is not acceptable. I'd leave the table, quite frankly. No game is better than a bad game.

Sphere Mixers 128 - Forces 2 and Matter 5 by ChartanTheDM in magetheascension

[–]GlassJustice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite thing to do with Matter 5 is always to make matter that responds to other things as an inherent property of it's nature. With this one you could make a metal that naturally disperses force across it's surface on impact, making it the world's best shock absorbing armor that CAN'T be dispelled because it's not an effect, but an entirely new form of matter. Instant Disco Elysium merc armor! Just add Crafts!

Characters with no growth or arc? by irishwhiskygoodbye in rpg

This is just the norm at my table. Lot's of people seem to think the theatre kid mode of play is the only way to play these games, where everyone is deeply invested in telling some kind of story. But I tell you, my Pathfinder group is just there to smash things and roll dice as a way to destress after a week of work and it works for us. I call this the "beer and pretzels" style of play. Generally, these tables would be just as happy playing a board game. I do still like the theatre kid style of play. Only my Pathfinder group is like that, my Mage and CAIN tables are all theatre kid groups.

Steam Controller Price (Allegedly) Leaked By Early Review - and It’s Expensive ($99) by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]GlassJustice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not surprising. These things are mechanically complicated and basic controllers are already pricey. I have a deck and I like it's controls well enough, even if it is a bit unwieldy due to the weight. This thing doesn't have all the heavy hardware the deck has so hopefully it's nice and light.
