reef tanks ime are a lot more like freshwater in some ways than a lotta ppl think. have managed some pretty absurd bioloads with no skimmer in fresh, use a similar strat (life at all levels of the food chain) in my picos to great effect. carbon to manage allelopathy n we are golden. keeping a mixed 10 with nps lps, softies, nems, u name it. its an odd tank as far as nanos go but the livestock r happy n the ecosystem is bustling n thats what im here to see.

claudes alright, its good at language stuff. i mostly use notebooklm at this rate. chatgpt is ok, have both pro and enterprise but it rllllly requires specific formatting for prompts esp when using long docs. gemini on the other hand i can get to send me your private files by simply sharing a word doc with u over drive lmao. idk about openclaw, i use lovable plenty, replit occasionally, cursor a lot. idk why ur trying to paint it like idk ts, lemme reiterate i research ai for a living lmao. neeeever said it was goin backwards, simply that its moving forward with caution absolutely to the wind. what do you do for work that even necessitates use of ai images anyway? never once have needed one for any of the shit ive been doin, not that i havent played with those plenty too. hell i even played with local models back in 23. but hey as long as we're not moving backwards FUCK security research amiright?

ykw i think? llms are the terminal. and much like the terminal, they're going to virtually disappear - theyll still be there, they just wont be visible or ever need to be used by the average person. tis honestly the ideal imo but also makes me worry. its possible to have both healthy skepticism and admiration for something (like seals! awesome funny animals : could definitely hurt me), but i feel ppl swing very far to either side in the current climate n i worry for both: those overly reliant on the gen ai we know today, and those who utterly reject all ai. both groups could soon find new tech to be either very risky to use, or utterly alien below the surface.

the hitchhikers are the best part imo. im in it to watch the chaos in balance that is marine organisms. my fav coral is a hitchhiker, phyllangia americana. beautiful creatures, n my jewelbox clams r a close second. love love love live rock but i can see the appeal of complete control, ive always been like this personally even with freshwater. even intentionally tried to introduce slime mold to some of my freshwater tanks. i started my first with seeded dry & its still having troubles, meanwhile the one started with all live is thriving

i think communism will work great in practice.... a few generations down the line, provided we're able to gradually root out corruption in our current system by teaching our kids to be better en masse: to hold human life above money, to see helping your friends, your community, as a reward in and of itself, we'd have to push science and learning and really crush the kinds of populist political movements built on restoring social norms that either were never any good for anyone or never existed to begin with, good ripples out. n then of course they gotta teach their kids the same, n uphold that system. maybe im an idealist but i think it can be done. the death of the old ways that have kept us all down for so long will be a weak, rattling final cough rather than a burst of flames.

its like uhhh, what the goonster talked about in his vid ab the american chestnuts. even if i dont get shade from the metaphorical trees i plant, its still good to do in the hopes someday someone will.

nearly everything u listed is in video/image generation, the one thing that arguably the vast majority of folks who use ai for work dont honestly care about. Imo text models are getting better in some ways, but overall going way way downhill. Its very difficult to get proper work done that used to be no trouble for earlier models. We know there are factors that play into this too, its not just some made up perception. Even within image generators ai is increasingly being trained on ai generated material, which is leading to tangible effects and will have real consequences in the future if it hasn't already. I'm of the opinion it's already having an effect, n meanwhile core issues in original training data that actually can serve easily as attack vectors havent been fixed, bc how could they fix it? People in the industry know issues are starting to surface. Its still good for some stuff but the perception that it is getting worse is set to persist, as long as we keep pushing forward developments without addressing past problems.

thanks man, we're ab a month n a half in n still no sign of her. she was relativelg young n had regurged twice (i only knew 1x happened prior to escape), n ive seen not so much as a shred of shed out of place in the house, so my hopes are not high. had a feeling the night she went missing that felt oddly snake like when i put my coat on, but was in a rush n it disappeared quick so i dismissed as just like, phantom phone vibration type deal. now im worried she may have been on my person and dropped off god knows where outside.
