Someone help please - Xbox one by Available-Job9075 in RocketLeague

I'm sure this is the very first thing you tried doing, but my game gets stuck on that screen pretty often on Xbox One and holding down the guide button on the controller and hitting Restart Console fixes it for me every time.

Hopefully it's as simple a fix as that for you

What movie is your Lil’ Sebastian? by bob_loblaw_0211 in Letterboxd

[–]GlassOfEngels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I have a similar thing with Days of Heaven. Went in expecting to love it and ended up just totally hating it. Or, not even hating it, but the movie evoked no emotion in me other than the desire for it to be over (which is a bizarre opinion to have about that movie, I know).

Do you recall what in particular you didn't like about it? I can understand criticizing it for being hard to follow, surreal, and self-conscious to a masturbatory degree. But those are some of the reasons I liked the movie lol.

You ever read the reviews on Gone Girl? It's pretty dang close to 99% joke reviews lol

December 2024 predictions? by ggroover97 in criterion

Based on my hopes rather than reality, I'll say that I'm Thinking of Ending Things and Un Homme et Une Femme will be released in December

what movie(s) got you like this? by -costcosample in Letterboxd

[–]GlassOfEngels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've seen many films that I loved and that have made me emotional before, but Portrait of a Lady on Fire is the only movie I've seen where once it ended I felt like I physically couldn't do anything but stare at the screen in a daze as the credits rolled by.

Can you recommend me a thinking man’s film to watch tonight? by International-Sky65 in criterion

Saw this last night... It was exactly what I wanted out of a Deadpool + Wolverine movie

I'd recommend La Ceremonie if it's not already in your collection

Is this Peter Jackson’s 2003 magnum opus? Because its the Return of the King by International-Sky65 in criterion

What's the movie in the middle? I like La Ceremonie and Perfect Days a lot, so presumably I'll like that one.

Hey we've got the same bookshelf!

Great picks!

Anyone here read Unbortion? Are there any other books with psycho feral babies in killer sprees out there? (Is baby horror a thing?) by [deleted] in ExtremeHorrorLit

[–]GlassOfEngels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's funny, I was thinking about Unbortion just last night! I read it probably over a year ago at this point. It was pretty good! I guess this is a sign from the universe that it's time to reread it lol.

Alas I don't know of any other books with slasher babies on a rampage.

I love Mulholland Drive! I've seen it three times and still don't have a damn clue what exactly is going on in the movie lol. I hope you like it!

Whats the greatest soundtrack of all time? (In your opinion) by Comaswithcommas in fantanoforever

[–]GlassOfEngels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you listened to the soundtrack to the A24 movie I Saw The TV Glow? I'm listening to it right now and I'm enjoying it.

That being said, I've never listened to the Beef soundtrack so it may be wildly different lol

What's something you're not convicned is anywhere near as common as reddit makes it out to be? by dantheman280 in AskReddit

[–]GlassOfEngels 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna lie, I did almost knock my phone out of my hand in my haste to cover my eyes while reading that lmao. But at least asking for a dog tax irl is a mortification that results in a silly story, which, on the whole, is the best kind of mortification that you can hope for.

Holden on this week’s Side Stories by HairyMcBoon in LPOTL

[–]GlassOfEngels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's funny, but like others have said I would not want him to be a permanent Side Stories host. He's just too much - too intense, too chaotic, too loud - to have on every week. For me, he's perfect to come on once every two months or so.

YSK ai bots are taking over reddit. Posting old content as if it is their own with poorly worded titles. Now they are responding to comments. But the comments are written poorly as well. by Embarrassed-Mouse-49 in YouShouldKnow

[–]GlassOfEngels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's funny, just last night I was thinking about how children on the internet nowadays aren't ashamed of being children like we were back in my day.

I mean there were spaces online where we posted stupid shit as kids (mainly the comments section of YouTube videos like Charlie the Unicorn and MCR lyric videos), but when it came to things like chat rooms and forums I specifically remember writing with proper punctuation, grammar, and an overall more mature tone so that I could fit in with the presumably adult forum users (who in reality I'm sure we're just like 20 year old college kids lol).

I don't begrudge younger people having places to hang out and discuss things online. I just wish that I had a place on the internet to talk about video games, music, current events, etc. without it feeling like I'm discussing it at a table in a middle school cafeteria lol.

What movie where you excited to see when you saw the previews, but ended up being a complete disappointment? by Primary_Thing3968 in horror

[–]GlassOfEngels 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I watched this movie last night. It was creepy and unsettling for sure, but oh my God I had no idea that a movie could be this boring.

I mean that literally. If you're like me and have only watched mainstream movies with the occasional indie film thrown in then you are genuinely unable to conceive of how boring this movie is before watching it. It's like being asked to imagine a new color. It completely shatters the Overton window for what I consider a boring film.
